The CEO of Alaska Airlines said new, in-house inspections of the carrier's Boeing 737 Max 9 planes in the wake of a near-disaster earlier this month revealed that “many” of the aircraft were found to have loose bolts.
Delta Boeing plane loses wheel while taxiing for takeoff.
This comes as Boeing is also facing questions over a door plug that blew off an Alaska Airlines Boeing 737 Max 9, prompting the plane to conduct an emergency landing. This also resulted in an investigation by the FAA and the National Safety Transportation Board.
Everyone is acting surprised that inflation has been largely caused by corporate greed the past couple of years
I don't know how you can be surprised when you are paying 50 to 75 bucks for four small plastic or paper bags of groceries then figure out they didn't even fill the cans and bags and containers all the way to the top.
Are they stupid or just ignorant?
Open your eyes when you shop ...shake the hell out of everything to see how much there is in that box

Prices paid at the register don't match the price tags, acc to a class action lawsuit working thru the courts.
Dollar General overcharges ‘hundreds of thousands’ of customers, a lawsuit alleges. DG can take [a dollar] from a customer, unknowingly, & not be prosecuted, & do it at such an immense scale that, over their 19,000 stores, they may be [doing it to] the tune of $100M/yr-."
So that’s about a 30% price increase in one month? Awesome. This is an over-the-counter medical product, so at least I can deduct the purchase price from my income when my rent is being calculated. For now anyway.
The SC on Tues allowed a court order to take effect -could loosen Apple’s grip on its iPhone app store, potentially siphoning billions$ away from them *rejected Apple’s appeal - found some of their app store rules for apps purchased on >1B iPhones constitute unfair comp. under Cal. law. Lifted a hold on an order to allow app developers in the US to insert links to other payment options -make it easier for them to avoid paying commissions: 15-30%.
Negligence can kill; Boeing isn’t the only US co that’s guilty of prioritizing profits over safeguards, but Boeing’s primary bus is safely flying millions of passengers. The FAA will demand changes & fines will be imposed, but their bus model & culture must also be transformed: This debacle is bound to raise concerns that Boeing was unduly focused on returning to profitability ASAP after the 2018 & 2019 crashes that killed 346 people. #CorporateNegligence#CorporateGreedhttps://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2024/01/12/boeing-737-door-plug-quality/
A slap on the wrist ? A fine worth 0.01% of their annual revenue ? As long as greedy mega-corporations go unpunished, they will continue to choose profits over morals.
Sadly, these are the principles most new companies are also being founded on. End-users are just sheep that need a good fleecing. And then they can be stripped for hide.
The FAA gave #Boeing a free pass for years. It's good they're stepping up, but it took an egregious incident for the FAA to change:
The FAA said it'll audit Boeing’s production line after a door plug blew out on an Alaska Airlines 737 Max 9. The agency said it is considering the use of an independent 3rd party to oversee Boeing inspections & quality. The FAA grounded >170 737 Max 9s, most of the world’s fleet, after that incident.
🚨Let's hope every Boeing aircraft that's flying is being thoroughly examined.
"Boeing personnel tightened six loose fasteners on the fuselage structure around the plug exit OPPOSITE THE ONE THAT WAS LATER VIOLENTLY EXPELLED from an Alaska Airlines 737 Max 9 at altitude last Friday."
Starbucks sued for allegedly using coffee from farms with rights abuses while touting its ‘ethical’ sourcing -lawsuit calls for the coffee chain to end its “unfair & deceptive” trade practices and argues that the co is aware of the child & forced labor on some of its supplier farms -cites reporting about human rights & labor abuses on specific coffee & tea farms in Guatemala, Kenya & Brazil-.
#Zuck = #Musk. RW (mostly GOP) CEOs can't be trusted:

Most workers win, so CNBC points out the costs for business:
The US DOL on Tues issued a final rule that will force companies to treat some workers as employees rather than less expensive independent contractors, in a move that has riled bus groups & will likely prompt legal challenges.
The rule is widely expected to⬆️ labor costs for IDUs that rely on contract labor or freelancers: trucking, MANU, HC & app-based “gig” services....
When profit is the only motive: Boeing, once a US corp icon, used to be run by engineers -then by anti-union financiers. After its merger with McDonnell Douglas in 1997 focus: on cost containment -mgt looked at specific performance & time requirements tied to reducing costs. Corp execs make the best decisions about allocating resources & safety *1st duty is to the shareholders. Compliance reg by the FAA lapsed -regulators: also under pressure to cut costs. #CorporateGreedhttps://www.fromdayone.co/2022/05/01/lessons-of-boeings-cultural-decline-and-how-it-can-recover/
Before CNBC cut off the Boeing whistleblower's interview, he said that the 737 Max-9 was a 'FLYING LEMON':
Ed Pierson, former Boeing employee and executive director at Foundation for Aviation Safety, joins ‘Squawk on the Street’ to discuss his reaction to the blown-off door of a Boeing 737 Max-9, what’s at the heart of Boeing 737 problems, and more.

So...good to see they admit they were responsible for the insane price gouging that erupted during a period in which they were profiting at a record rate. Bravo Oil & Gas Industry. 👏 #CorporateGreed#Fascism
