Apple (the computer company) wants the trademark on images of apples (the fruits) in Switzerland. So apple farmers would be unable to use depictions of apples when marketing their products.
@Radical_EgoCom So true that an entire generation of people born after a World War is collectively responsible for what #RulingClasses have been doing since the beginning of recorded history. Let’s blame old people struggling to survive for what #republicans & #plutocrats have actually done while they were busy working.
BIg banks need more regulation & oversight, they can't be trusted. Maybe Goldman Sachs will pay the price for their corrupt antics this time: The Federal Reserve & the SEC are investigating Goldman Sachs’s role in buying Silicon Valley Bank’s securities portfolio while it was working on its doomed capital raise before the bank’s failure. #CorporateGreedhttps://www.wsj.com/articles/fed-sec-probing-goldman-sachss-role-in-svbs-final-days-a4683b5b
“The new building will be named in honour of the province’s most popular citizen and two most important natural resources. This name change has absolutely nothing to do with the anonymous donors who have so generously funded the project.”
Seth Rogen Calls Out Streamer CEOs’ ‘Insane’ Salaries
“I’m personally distressed by not having any sense of how successful these shows and movies we make for streaming services are,” said Rogen. “The secretiveness only makes me think that they’re making way more money off of all of us than they want to share with anybody. These executives are making insane salaries that you would only make if you are running an incredibly profitable business.”
David Simon, creator of The Wire, says that he's on strike to protect younger writers. Of course, he's great at explaining what's going on with the studios re cost cutting, AI, etc.
@GossiTheDog - I’ve not liked Micro$oft for years, but… this story of #corporategreed is pretty much the same at many companies right now.
Still just awful.
A ten percent #raise for Nadella is $5.5 million. Imagine how powerful it’d look for him to #donate that to the lowest level #employees at his company.
@appleinsider Subscription apps (Finsl Cut & Logic on iPad) from the company that stopped charging for yearly OS versions? How things change. #corporategreed
Corporate executives will put anyone at risk to make a profit.
60 Minutes:
"A Nebraska middle school reporting a child with acid burns led to one of the largest investigations into child labor in the U.S. The Department of Labor found children as young as 13 were working overnights cleaning slaughterhouses."
Listened to #bbcradio4 this morning talking about the monstrous comments from the #bankofengland chief #economist that people just need to accept they are now poorer and not try to increase their wages to compensate. Not a single mention of the actual cause of inflation - #corporategreed. The #rich get richer, the #poor can just get poorer it seems. Makes me bloody angry.
