Antony Gormley's memorial to Alan Turing has been unveiled in #Cambridge.... In the end whether you like or not will depend on whether you think a memorial should be directly representational (i.e. look like Turing) or whether an artist should respond in their own way to the subject.
In fairness no #publicart is going to please everyone, but at least its good to see public art actually being done.... even if its effectively on private land (in the grounds of Kings College).
ORCA &XR CAMBRIDGE HAVE BLOCKADED THE SCHLUMBERGER RESEARCH CENTRE
This morning, activists from ORCA and XR Cambridge have glued on to the gates of the Schlumberger Research Centre in Cambridge. Schlumberger is the world's largest oilfield services provider, operating in over 120 countries.
It is absurd to me that you have to re-register to vote in every municipal election.

For my erstwhile friends in #HigherEducation, their work to try an reign the #plagiarism epidemic will not be made easier by a report that at #Cambridge University, a Associate Professor in the #history department has retained his post despite having being found to have lifted around a page of material for a journal publication from an undergraduate's essay submission;
its not use telling students academic 'offences' are v.serious when staff are left to commit plagiarism with impunity!
