If I walk into a doctor's office, have a seat and explain to the doc I have a medical issue that causes clotting, have a history of saddle pulmonary embolism, and a history of reactive airway disease:

Yes, that makes you a Nazi eugenicist doctor if you dont immediately don a mask.

And since you dont know who has that profile, WEAR A FUCKING MASK in the healthcare fucking setting.

Over 80 million Americans are under air quality alerts as smoke from Canadian wildfires drifts to the U.S.

CNN reports "Canada is seeing its worst fire season on record with hundreds of wildfires raging across the country."

blbc,

@NewsDesk Yesterday Chicago, today it’s far enough south to catch my area. I’ll be watering my garden in a mask…

"Part of the problem stems from misunderstanding the #diversity of the disabled population and the range of their #needs. Many default to the image of someone in a #wheelchair when they hear the term. [But] those with #asthma — which affects about 26 million people in the US — are particularly vulnerable to #AirQuality emergencies. Conditions like #MultipleSclerosis and #CerebralPalsy worsen significantly in high heat and #humidity."

You do not know how much you need one of these until you do not have one of these. Stupid pollen thunderstorm combo.

I’ve been mildly struggling with breathing the past couple of days. I clued in yesterday it’s because of forest fires. My eyes are a little gummy and I have a nagging cough. Gonna make sure I have my puffer with me when I go to the gym and keep an eye on the air quality index. Oof.

Regardless of politics, culture wars, and regulations, if you have a gas stove and can replace it or encourage your landlord to replace it, do it

We lived with a gas stove when my kids were 2-8. Every winter one of them would develop a cough that lasted at least a month. My oldest was diagnosed with cough variant asthma

After moving to a home with electric stove, respiratory problems disappeared. No asthma. My $0.02

My wife has asthma. She is also my primary #caregiver. She had an #asthma attack last night that was so bad that her rescue inhalers and setup didn't work.

After she came out of it, I kept a watchful eye over her all night.

Asthma attack aside, it was nice being able to be her caretaker.

She does so much for me. She got to wear my 'help I've fallen & can't get up button' for a change.

I've already emailed for a second button so she'll always have one too if she is alone or needs 911 aide.

Some hospitals refusing to mask anymore because they claim people are likely to get elsewhere anyway. That's a dereliction of duty. Regardless of what is happening elsewhere, no one should ever have to risk their health while seeking medical care. Do no harm.

@luckytran And yet hospitals is where you get a higher concentration of vulnerable and at-risk patients. Even catching a common cold from someone in a crowded waiting room can trigger serious problems in people with , , transplant recipients, etc. There must be data out there showing a drop in infections during wearing during mandates?
Not just hospitals, any healthcare setting where vulnerable people and sick people are likely to mix -- including their FP's clinic.

People who are disabled, immunocompromised, or high risk deserve joy too. And they have every right to express their anger when they are excluded from participating in joyful activities in public spaces due to lack of community care.

Crystal_Fish_Caves,

@edsuom @LewisHarrington @luckytran I am with you. I have severe . Im 62 and pretty healthy otherwise, but I was never very good at 'social life' to begin with so dont feel I am missing much so people just arent worth the risk.
