Tonight is Creative Code Stammtisch, 122nd edition. As usual, at 19:30 in co.up in Berlin: a low-key 'show and tell' format in 10 minutes. Come by and show us what you've been working on!
In the past weeks, I've passed by this beautiful flowering plant on my daily walks (recovering from cancer surgery). My recovery is going well, and getting stronger every day!
But before I went into surgery, I was working on these creative coding/generative art pieces built from the text "F*ck Cancer".
It amazes me how the colors of these go together so accidentally and yet beautifully.
I haven't really touched Twitter's API for over a year now, so it made little sense for me to offer the previous version of the project that also supported Twitter and Tumblr.
Hey fediverse, just a reminder that I made a few dozen automated accounts that post anything from locations of libraries and parks around the world, live views from NYC, the ISS, or under the sea, book dedications, emoji polls, and lots and lots more.
one problem I have with automated accounts is that I can't control how often posts appear in my timeline
this is a problem cause some bots post every minute or so (or so it seems)
it would be nice if there was a way to limit bot posts to some frequency, say no more then 5/day or something
I've definitely seen accounts I liked, but had to unfollow because of their posting frequency.
I've also seen bots that have two, if not more versions, that post at different rates.
I think it's fair to ask the bot's creator, some may just not realize that this could be an issue. (Happened to me once! I try to aim for 4-6 hours, but sometimes you just get too excited when you get a really good idea.)
CMY Tangled Squares, a work originally conceived April 2018 and been evolving and iterating ever since. The abstract works can be enjoyed far away as well as close up. Using only three primary ink colors, the movement and flows of the strokes endlessly flow across the page. Many see things is the swirls of line and color. What do you see?
