"The ugly, violent demonstrators during [the] parade of Jewish supremacy through the streets of Jerusalem" evoke Yeshayahu Leibowitz's warning:
"The national pride & euphoria that followed the Six-Day War are temporary & will bring us from proud, rising nationalism to extreme, messianic, ultranationalism.
"The third stage will be brutality & the final stage will be the end of Zionism."

The difference between Israel and Hamas is clear, one a democracy (with problems) and the other is a terrorist organisation. At the same time it means Israel's actions should maintain high standards with regard to innocent victims. They seem to be failing in that respect... #gaza#hamas#israel
4 Israeli #hostages have been #rescued alive from #Gaza, the Israeli military said Sat. #Israel’s forces rescued Noa Argamani, 26; Almog Meir Jan, 22; Andrey Kozlov, 27; & Shlomi Ziv, 41, from 2 locations in #Nuseirat in central Gaza, the #IDF said in a stmnt. ≥125 people were #killed in the operation.
All “are in good medical condition” & have been transferred to a hospital for further medical examinations, the IDF said.
The #hostages were taken from the Nova music festival during the #Hamas attacks on Oct 7.
Israeli leaders spoke to Argamani following her #rescue. Argamani was captured on video being driven into #Gaza on a motorcycle after the deadly attack. Her mother, who has Stage 4 cancer, had appealed for Hamas to release her daughter as a dying wish.
President Isaac #Herzog & PM Benjamin #Netanyahu spoke to #freed hostage #NoaArgamani after her rescue.
Video shared by a fmr spox for PM, showed the phone call between Argamani & Herzog.
@glynmoody Is it contemplatable that Netanyahu also be put on a multilateral's sanctions list for being commander-in-chief of IDF's crimes against humanity, and also be put on Interpol's Red List for being a clear and present danger to innocent children and the public-at-large?
Was die zerstrittene israelische Regierung zusammenhält
"The #protesters carried a banner that said “It is right to rebel, #Hillel go to hell,” with an inverted red triangle on it, which has come to signify support for #Hamas on social media because the terror group uses the symbol in videos of its attacks. The student demonstrators repeatedly formed inverted triangles with their hands, flashing the symbol at the counter-protesters. Another protester brandished a banner that had a #swastika inside a Star of David while shouting: “#Synagogue of Satan.”
The pro- #Palestinian, anti- #Israel demonstrators chanted “From #CUNY to #Gaza, globalize the #intifada,” and “Hillel, Hillel, what do you say? How many kids did you kill today?”
@dukepaaron
“Another protester wore a shirt bearing the image of Leila Khaled, a Palestinian terrorist who gained notoriety for hijacking airplanes in 1969 and 1970. Two protesters wore green headbands used by Hamas’s armed wing, and a leader of the group wore a headband used by the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, another US-designated terror group.”
These people are totally unhinged. Yes, I’m criticizing how people protest if they’re doing it this way. Deal with it, Fediverse.
@TonyStark@dukepaaron Do any of these people look in the mirror before they go out? My parents would prefer that I didn't go to protests because they want me to be safe, but I know they wouldn't be ashamed of what I'm wearing or carrying if a photo of me gets published. (Isn't our interpretation of honoring thy mother, don't be a shanda?)
"Large-scale attack against Hezbollah could bring terrible destruction to Israel"
While northern communities want Israel to attack Hezbollah, they don't know the "dire situation" of the Israeli military.
Gallant & Halevi are “not prepared to acknowledge the army’s weakness" & they & Netanyahu "have nothing left to lose, & are ready to gamble on the fate of the country”.
"I could see what kind of young Israelis are being educated - a new generation of Israelis far more right-wing, far more extreme, far more zionist, far more racist, were being educated in the school system."
"This is ethnic cleansing which has turned into genocide.
"So from my perspective, what's happening now in Gaza is far worse than what happened in 1948".
