Even a simple task like editing, building, and deploying my SSG (Zola) based website can't be done without the help of a remote machine running a real operating system. I tried to see this replica 16th century pirate ship that one guy built over 10 years but apparently it sails around and is not a permanent fixture. So doing my obligatory visit to Urangan Pier.

You can see why the pier is so long 868m (originally 1.1km) when the tide is out like this. Also saw an Australasian Darter on the pier. #HerveyBay #Queensland #Birds

Mother-in-law was almost scammed into handing over bank details yesterday after calling a number shown on a website claiming that her computer was locked due to malware.

The scam website was hosted several sub-domains deep on windows.net, which not only looks like a legit Microsoft domain, it is owned by Microsoft and they use it for Azure, including Azure Files! 🤦‍♂️

Even worse Firefox makes the windows.net bit more prominent in the URL bar (Chrome and Safari do not appear to).

Due to:

• macOS/iOS integration being really good
• context switching between win11/macOS sucking
• wanting affordable Apple Silicon CI
• zed being macOS-only for now
• DaVinci Resolve being great on mac (even w/low specs)
  I bought the cheapest M2 mac mini they have 🤷

There are hundreds of todo apps, native and web-based and iCloud Reminders manages to be one of the worst.

Part of the problem appears to be that it attempts to load all data the list has ever seen, including completed items even when Show completed is not checked.
