For the second time in a month I have spotted a @hypercritical t-shirt in my town! This time I stopped the friendly fella and took a picture, asked his name, his mastodon.social ID, etc., and ASKED if I could post it. The only problem? I forgot his username! Does anybody recognize him?

Took the #visionpro to the Apple Store and finally got to use my case. I adore this case. It’s so much smaller than the Apple one. I should have taken a photo next to one.

    Man, getting gigabytes of video files from one iPad to another without them AirDropping right into Photos and wiping out your iCloud storage is way harder than it should be. I just want a file server; instead, I’m making a 20GB zip file cause that won’t be hijacked when I send it

    @marcoarment I am old and I just scan as document with Notes on the phone. Sometimes I get shadows (addressed by the iPad Pro 2024) but it’s fine. It’s fast, nothing to jam, no extra software, ends up OCR and searchable by spotlight anywhere, and I get to add metadata to the scanned item in the note, group scans in one note, tag, categorize.

    Bonus: it gets better every time I update my device.

    I love it.

    I filed a feedback about my erratic eye tracking on my #VisionPro and got some useful information:

    “Unfortunately, the artificial lenses that are implanted during a Cataract surgery can sometimes cause interference with Apple Vision Pro’s eye tracking. This can manifest in unstable, or erratic tracking and highlighting.”

    Lots of arguments still raging about that Apple ad. Some claiming things have changed. Apple is too big now. It would have got away with it if it wasn’t for those pesky kids*.

    But now imagine Apple swapped out its cool (for the day) iPod ads for one in which an amazing record and CD collection, along with vintage players, are destroyed by a soulless crusher, before an iPod is revealed. I don’t imagine people would have been cheering about that either.

    Apple keynote first thoughts:

    A big new iPad Pro with the new keyboard would be great but I checked and it’s $1848 which is $500+ more than a new 15” MacBook Air, and I didn’t see any mention of MagSafe charging being added to iPads.

    If Apple made a home dock wireless charger/holder like the Google tablets have, I’d buy one for the kitchen counter as a family Apple Home controller/recipe lookup screen that is always charged and ready to play tv/movies when undocked.
