@rsf92 @pluralistic As someone who left a fiber connection in Japan for Comcast (ewww) cable (ewww) and now a fixed wireless connection in the USA, I can 100% attest to how much better fiber is. And it was cheaper!

At least my fixed wireless connection is run by a local ISP.

@FlockOfCats @Haikyoneko @piepants if you must gaijin YT that guy and the guy who's in Nebula, View From Where I Live, or something. He did the only good sento video I've seen yet.

I think the dislike comes from a few factors: length of time in Japan (more sophisticated interest), language ability (just watch this stuff on Japanese language TV), and when you became interested in the country (generational divide).

And the shit TY people are all probably really nice, it's the content that sucks.
