My GF would definitely disagree with you there. On my worst days, she stuffs her face into my pits and is practically intoxicated by it. Turns her on.

Sidenote: my pet cat (female) also goes nuts for it. She’ll root her nose into my pits and get all lovey. If she finds a soiled shirt out of the basket, she goes crazy, and her brother had better steer clear when she’s “high on pits.”

Keepass is free, and has no limits that would cause you to research alternatives. Keep the passwords database in a single cloud location, or keep separate copies and merge them occasionally. I see nothing in your post that would lead me to recommend an additional paid service.

Agreed. This is not a concern worthy of modifying your behavior over. Update or don’t, but don’t worry about the max writes of your phone storage unless you happen to be serving Wikipedia or running a public DNS server out of your pocket.

• In short, you can’t. We don’t build more than 2 versions usually (exemptions were made when major hurdles prevented a large amount of devices to receive a newer version) and we don’t keep old builds around for a multitude of reasons, the largest being that we won’t keep old, insecure, potentially broken builds around. Additionally, we don’t have the server space (or the space on mirrors) to do so

There’s no SDK, no modding tools and based on a report from a programmer, the game is coded in a way that makes it especially difficult, if not outright impossible, to mod. And that’s the biggest shame because an active modding community would have fixed the game.

More than 7,000 years ago, people navigated the Mediterranean Sea using technologically sophisticated boats, according to a study published March 20, 2024, in the open-access journal PLOS ONE by Juan F. Gibaja of the Spanish National Research Council, Barcelona and colleagues.

Many of the most important civilizations in Europe originated on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. During the Neolithic, communities clearly traveled and traded across the water, as evidenced by watercraft in the archaeological record and the presence of settlements on coasts and islands. In this study, Gibaja and colleagues provide new insights into the history of seafaring technology through analysis of canoes at the Neolithic lakeshore village of La Marmotta, near Rome, Italy.

Excavation at this site has recovered five canoes built from hollowed-out trees (dugout canoes) dating between 5700 and 5100 BC. Analysis of these boats reveals that they are built from four different types of wood, unusual among similar sites, and that they include advanced construction techniques such as transverse reinforcements.

One canoe is also associated with three T-shaped wooden objects, each with a series of holes that were likely used to fasten ropes tied to sails or other nautical elements. These features, along with previous reconstruction experiments, indicate these were seaworthy vessels, a conclusion supported by the presence at the site of stone tools linked to nearby islands.

The authors describe these canoes as exceptional examples of prehistoric boats whose construction required a detailed understanding of structural design and wood properties in addition to well-organized specialized labor.

Similarities between these canoes and more recent nautical technologies support the idea that many major advances in sailing were made during the early Neolithic. The authors suggest there may be more boats preserved near La Marmotta, a potential avenue for future research.

The authors add, “Direct dating of Neolithic canoes from La Marmotta reveals them to be the oldest in the Mediterranean, offering invaluable insights into Neolithic navigation. This study reveals the amazing technological sophistication of early agricultural and pastoral communities, highlighting their woodworking skills and the construction of complex vessels.”

Garmin has so many different trackers for different niches. Scuba, hikers, bikers, runners, pilots…

I switched after getting my third Fitbit replacement under warranty. Affordable and standard watch band parts, though some high-end trackers are a bit pricey for me.

Just no reason to stay with Fitbit with Google’s history of product longevity and support.

I owned four Fitbit devices, and they all broke in some way. The clip broke at the middle joint. Everything else always was at the wristband to body joint, and they refused to make standard wristbands. I’ve had a Vivoactive 3 since 2018-ish, and it still works for me, plus I can have custom activities, and watch faces, and data screens. I like that my partner’s Garmin and mine use the same charging cable, too.

Disclaimer: I don’t use the smart watch features, like texts or calls or notifications of any kind on my tracker, and the battery lasts about five days still, unless I use GPS.

Thats is a very budget-friendly choice for UnRAID to accept varying drive sizes. As a backup destination, especially a cold backup, the RAM requirements of ZFS should be less impactful. I had lots of use from my TrueNAS box with 16GB, and my dedicated cold backup build is just 8GB on 5x1TB WD Blue (gasp!) HDDs. I always wanted to try other NAS platforms, but I’m away from all my tech for a few years.

Well as long as you’re aware of the risk and prepared for it, its not so bad to run in a volatile way like that. I ran my TN box for almost a decade on the same USB boot before I finally caved and picked up three Intel enterprise SSD for the job, with one as a cold spare. Nothing in the vox was critical or would be missed for more than a few beers of crying.

Don’t need or want a hosted password manager when I use Keepass.

Been using simple logon for about five new aliases a month, but can easily move to a duck email (or a competing service) since I don’t have a use-case for custom domain. I will keep using SL the way I do until I’m told I can’t though. RN I like some features of SL over DDG slightly more. I like creating custom aliases rather than accepting the fully obfuscated DDG ones, but the tracker removal of DDG is a bonus. Meh.

If they take what I want away, I’ll use a different service. I’m not using Proton Mail to get locked into anything. I used it to move away from vendor lock-in. Its the last thing I want after working so long to migrate away from almost fifteen years of Google. I’m willing to pay for my independence, but I’m in no hurry to be a captive user.
