I am digging the #TomKing run on #WonderWoman so far. It is a bit icky to have it narrated by by the Sovreign the whole time. But other than that, so far it's a solid go. Awesome art by #DanielSampere (below). Excellent, clean, smooth lines. Chars very presant in the story.

Still on the fence about #Trinity. There is stuff to like, stuff to not. Kinda like where they are going w/ Jon & Damien & her. But still not sure.

rachelcholst,

@Scofisticated @comics my one concern with it is the drawing of the Sovereign seems a bit...anti-Semitic???

Other than that I'm enjoying it a lot!

rachelcholst,

@Scofisticated @comics well...it is what it is. But I do enjoy King making Diana FUNNY because that side of her is often neglected

rachelcholst,

@Scofisticated @comics I can't wait! I'm a few months behind in my reading!

Swedish Duo Old Amica dust off their hard drives for their haunting duet "Everyone We Know," a dirge for one's own sanity.

Petrixora, the recent album from Elana Low, is a fascinating dive into almost medieval-sounding folk music. It’s hard not to be overwhelmed by the wall of sound, but Low’s piercing lyrics and fey performance keep us from falling too far under its spell.

Ben de la Cour puts the “American” and “gothic” in “American gothic” on Sweet Anhedonia. De la Cour is one of the finest songwriters I’ve had the pleasure to write about, and Sweet Anhedonia offers some heart in the bleakness — if you dig real hard.

NQ Arbuckle's recent Love Songs For the Long Game is the album for mature relationships, the stark arrangements simulating the vulnerability necessary to make it work once the initial flush has faded.

writing plans

My resolution is to block off a few hours every weekend to do something creative. Now that I'm done with school I want to finish up that Sci fi noir I wrote about here then use it as an outline for my first ever attempt at NaNoWriMo

(Edit)

Always a constant stream of music journalism, of course.

@rainbowrodeomag #4 will be out this spring

I'm also writing a profile about an artist I never thought I'd be able to speak with and I'm so, so grateful. That'll be published at the end of the month.

And soon I'll be able to announce my participation in a very exciting project. If you care about and marginalized artists, keep an eye out

The Roseline get through relationship difficulties in the most tender way (really) on their new song "I Was a Gun." At once familiar and iconic, The Roseline are one of the best bands in Americana right now.

Some changes are coming to Adobe & Teardrops! I gotta keep this baby (now teenager) alive but I also need to stay sane.

TLDR:

  • Fewer reviews
  • Reviews consolidated with a weekly playlist and we'll party like it's 2012
  • This is good for artists bc it helps w/ HypeMachine ranking
  • If you've been waiting 6 months for me to review your album, it's coming soon

I've been asked by a digital publication to do a regular column on forgotten or overlooked bits of tech and business history that changed stuff forever.

So what's your favourite weird nugget of obscure history or people in tech or business?

This is LITERALLY your chance to make me write about it 😄

There's no shortage of cross-talk about authenticity in country music, but Ross Cooper is one of the few Nashville songsmiths who is an actual rodeo cowboy. In our interview, Cooper explains the jarring medical condition that inspired his new album's name and how he's just trying to live in the moment.
