So this was a great opinion piece, and I agree with all the points made, but it's the underlying supposition I'm having trouble with.
The author assumes that our government actually WANTS to retain ANY population in #Alaska at all! It's clear by their actions that they want everyone gone, so big extraction can continue it's raping of this beautiful state for it's resources unfettered.

I have never seen a more obvious example of the intentional #enshittification of a product than the Meta Quest 2. The 3 hasn't even been out a year and the 2 is now completely unusable with new updates. My controllers continually fly out to random locations, there's constant hiccups in the video and it's just getting slower. Haven't owned it two years yet and it's basically a $600 piece of trash now. The only thing that would piss me off more is if I paid $3500 for it...

LOL, I was approached at the Willow Post Office by a canvasser for this petition. I almost ignored him because I thought it was gonna be some bullshit. When he said "to raise the minimum wage" I jumped on signing it and we both looked super relieved at the outcome of the interaction... 🤣

About Amazon's decline in recent months: I have an Amazon account I use ONLY for buying ebooks. Nothing else, ever, going back over a decade.

My recommendations page in that account now contains no ebooks, only products from categories I never purchase, like lawnmowers (I don't have a garden) and dresses (I'm a boring cis male).

I can't actually find any new ebooks I want to read via Amazon recommendations any more. And this seems to be an outcome of deliberate changes? Why would they DO that?
