@josh Unfortunately the reality is that even though they have an account nobody at TU Dresden that I know actually uses it (and they are even on the more techy side of things).

Most often usability and notification issues are cited (and unwillingness to install yet another app so I'm unsure how real the cited reasons are), so matrix is still in the same realm of irc and xmpp of only being used by free software enthusiasts even though all students actually hale an account...

@jon I had to stand for hours on trains tons of times in my life due high capacity and these would've definitely been an improvement vs. not being able to lean against anything... and I sit all day anyways be it for work or hobbies.

As long as people who actually need seats (elders, ill, children, etc.) get a guaranteed one I'm all for this being an option at least on regional trains that don't offer seat reservation anyways.

@promovicz @funkylab Diese Kultur kenne ich als Programmierer nicht. Oder vllt. bin ich auch zu sehr in der Open-Source-Szene verankert wo ein Ruf (wahrscheinlich das was du mit "Ehre" meinst?) alles ist, was man hat. (Wenn man nicht das Glück hat Geldgeber zu finden)

Und wenn mich jemand wegen meines Urheberrechts an meinen Texten (Code) auslachen (nicht entsprechend der Lizenzvereinbarungen verwenden) würde dann würde ich mit Klage drohen, nicht es hinnehmen.
