Been told that dual-booting both Linux and Windows might be for me. I was unsure about it at first but after watching ExpainingComputer's YouTube video about it, I think I may do the dual-drive methods.
I'm only going to have Windows just for if for whatever reason what I wanna do on Linux isn't working out and I can just get it done. Otherwise, Linux should be my main OS whenever I get a new PC and Windows would be secondary.
The major one for me is I want to self-learn to do video-editing and I know Resolve is suppose to be good but setting it up as well as running it on Linux is a mess and depending how annoying it is for me, I might just stick to Windows for videoediting but general stuff otherwise would be Linux.
I wish I don't had to relie on Windows (This isn't an cue for advice, I just want to vent). After lot of dogery moves by Microsoft as well as user experience feels messy on Windows 10 (not the worst but still not that great), wish I can ditch it.
Hopefully once I dabble some more of FOSS project and learn how to use them, I may not be as dependent on Windows but it depends on if it would work for me and I feel like I am getting benefit from the switch. It's the way some Linux user talk about Linux like it works flawlessly for them and that people who use Windows are idiots and their very super tech-savvy, knows how to code and I can't.
Is it silly that I feel like I'm not really a Linux user if I don't have coding skills and just want to use less of Windows and that's it?

What the heck has happened to Search this morning? Both Startpage and Ecosia faling to return any results for simple phrases. Startpage can't "find any results" for fellow Search engine, Qwant? And neither engine could find any results for "daemon"???

I get disliking ads that track everybody and some the ads in question are scams but to get annoyed at someone sharing their work hoping that someone would buy it so they can make money to live is crazy.

I'm not saying "bring back bullying to the Fediverse" but sometime it feels little too serious and people have the "I'm so smart, you're not" smugness and trying to be civil isn't going make difference with those gits. Some people are just arrogant, they don't care to listen on your side and sometime just making fun of their smugness is funny.
I every now again will see people on Fedi encouraging others to spread the word of alterative of various services/software/social media etc. In general, how do you even try to approach it to most people who are an average Joe? (not interested about what they would see as a DIY aspect of tech such as Linux and self-hosting)
I asked as lot of stuff I hear of the pros or what it is about, most average Joe won't get and dismissed it with it sound more like a tech demo or just an clone of an existing service. Ideally, I want to use less of Discord which only reason I'm on it is the niche community I'm in which is difficult to try to rebuild it to another place.

@penguingeek I sometime hear that "Linux doesn't have malware" and stuff like that. That does give an impression it's "100% perfect" which doesn't help with amount of circlejerking in the Linux space where SOME users would try brush the issue under the rug. Not saying every single one but definitely enough where it causes problem and come across as dishonest in my book.
Yes, it's much more secure than Windows by a miles away. The issue is the constant circlejerking which leads to few misinfomation and make it difficult to actually fix whatever issue is going on with Linux.

If Gargron et al won't reconsider or even adhere to their own guidelines about problematic servers, then their servers should also be cast out to live among the Truth.socials, because they're effectively saying they don't give a steaming pile about what the Fediverse stands for or the users therein.
