I am sickly fascinated by how awful and weird mobile game ads have become. I'm part of a Facebook group where we share terrible ads and make up lore for the recurring characters. My phone is full of screenshots like this. Some actors from Eastern Europe, who appear in some of the ads, are also in the group. #enshittify #roteconomy #capitalism

@mentallyalex I think if you aren't very online it's possible you just don't know that this is a well-known scam at this point. Like there are probably people who really believe they have stars named after them.

@mentallyalex lol! I do think anyone is potentially susceptible. I still sometimes think about the day I almost got subscribed to one of those old Time Life book subscriptions, which was practically a scam.

When instagram first started, the explore page was filled with just whatever people were posting at that moment.

So if you stayed up really late in the US, you’d start getting posts from people in Indonesia as they woke up and started posting.

I really miss original instagram and really fucking hate how it was ruined.
