"If you want to scale, you have to design with scale in mind. makes several interesting choices in order to distribute the load of running the system more onto the actors that can handle load, and less on those that can’t. This way, applications running on top of atproto can scale up to large userbases without issue.

That’s the hope, at least. Earlier this week, hit five million users, and is far more stable than Twitter was in the early days."
