An attempt to weaponize nostalgia around an exclusionary vision of the past in which discriminatory traditional hierarchies of race, gender, and religion were much more strict, imposing a much clearer order on society.

A perfect encapsulation of what the Right is all about.

How’s this for a premise: the knights of #KingArthur and the other characters from #Arthurianlegend never stopped watching over #England. Every time England is in danger, they return. In the near-future climate dystopia and political insanity of #PerilousTimes they are back, and trying to even make sense of the state of England is way too much. On a special private tour in 2019, I got to walk through the massive closed stacks at the Library of Congress. I got in as many deep breaths as I could. If this scent could be bottled I would wear it as cologne. #books #bookshelves #loc #libraryofcongress #bookstodon @bookstodon

One room with some 50 yards of stacks at the Library of Congress where only librarians can enter to retrieve books. The floor is white marble. Most of the shelves are white metal and very old. Each set of shelves on either side is about 40 feet long. The room is full to overflowing of books with library bindings. The smell is beyond intoxicating.

A lot circulating on Facebook about the innocence of children. I agree that children's innocence should be protected. They shouldn't have to worry about getting shot at school, for instance. Or see animals killed. Or told that the way that they intrinsically are is bad, or shameful, or inferior in status to other humans. Sexual predation upon children under cover of religion also needs to stop. #childhood
