This is daft.
Even in the universe people age and die.
There is no way in hell any of these four would not restart their life as kids. Especially Guinan, winding back so many years. A few years “discomfort” of being a kid for a whole new life - no brainer.
And no way they would not then have a whole team research that “transporter accident”.

@revk From Fandom: "As Ro was not seen returning to an adult in this episode, the writing staff considered having her choose to remain a child. Jeri Taylor commented, 'Where else but on Star Trek could you do something like that? But it seemed too drastic for us, and we were sort of squelched on that.' I've spent the week reading like 50+ papers on learning to remember what I know about how people learn and this is what I know:

-people are bad at deciding what to learn
-people are bad at studying. We choose the worst ways to study and we hate the most efficient ways
-people give up on learning so much. Like more than anyone believes
-people aren't clear about what their goals really are for learning and if you try to get people to set goals they don't want to
-teachers truly work miracles

I'm reading a book about cavers, and I can't tell you how sorry I am that the word "spelunker" has fallen out of favor.

I played Watergate today for the first time. I lost twice, first playing the Editor, then playing Nixon. But each time I would have won at the next card. Really tense! Captures the energy and tension of Twilight Struggle's gameplay.

Monday night we played Ticket to Ride: San Francisco three times. I really enjoy it, but I have played it 5 times now with 2 players and never really been blocked. It lacks tension. https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/362541/ticket-ride-san-francisco #boardgames

I just remembered that this has been sitting in a cabinet for… a year? A long time anyway.

I’ve been waiting for us to have a gaming table to play it on (because cat), but now we have one and I saw it when grabbing something from that cabinet!

For those who don’t know, #ATMA is an entirely card based RPG. I’m really curious to find out what it is like to play.

@grayson Yes only 1 of us had ever played 18xx before. We had a banker for the first half of the game, a non player, and that helped a lot.

@masukomi @grayson BGG lists its playing time as 2-4 hours. It has a streamlined opening but embraces randomness in a way most other 18xx don't, with a deck of private companies. https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/17405/1846-race-midwest

I kinda hate that Reddit's real consequences for locking down their API were pretty much zero. The subreddit protests failed to make a significant impact, and Reddit has trucked along smug and happy.

Disgusting.

What "third generation" Trek is worth watching?

I started with Star Trek after watching the Star Trek (2009) movie in college. After that I went wild watching everything I could since I was young with loads of time. I watched most of TOS, all of TNS, all of DS9, all of Voyager, all of Enterprise and all of the movies. I then stopped since I didn't have the time and wasn't...

As I do my rewatch of TOS, I really hope that they bring in the Doctor / Bartender from The Cage since he is absolutely the kind of character who would fit into Strange New Worlds.

@genesisoflegend Since The Cage already happened, that seems unlikely, alas. He probably retired, transferred off, etc.
