Here is a really great paper on raising and caring for fungus farming ants.

We tend to think of leaf cutter ants as tropical creatures from the southern Americas, but there are a few species that live as far north as New York. In particular the genuses Trachymyrmex and
Sericomyrmex who collect dead leaves and other material for their secret fungi gardens.

I would love to raise a colony of one of these some day.

@futurebird wondering if earthworms not occurring in America would have been the reason for this behaviour.
as there are less creatures composting dead leaves, thus there is a ecological niche to be filled, and that could have been those ants, their fungi probably grow further than the nest, thus contributing to composting the area around.

A recent photo of my sketchbook, still training with ballpoint pen directly, a cruel training. But I am beginning to get a better ability to imagine perspective grids without tracing them, and I can even begin to plan full-page compositions. It takes a while to build these new skills, but they are worth it.

Went through half my fabric stash today and cataloged it.

now i have a calc sheet with all info i have on each fabric plus a handy tag attached to each piece, with a UUID and the most essential info on it.

Die, die schon immer Antifa waren und keine Potsdamer Konferenz brauchten um zu demonstrieren, waren auch da. Wir sehen eine Gruppe von Menschen mit einem großen Transparent „Tod dem Faschismus“. Die Scene wird durch eine pyrotechnische Fackel rot beleuchtet.

@Gleisplan @padeluun Bild unten: ja das sind (zum teil) die leute die seit jahren auf jede noch so kleine (gegen-)demo gehen und sich die ganze zeit schon gegen rechte arschlöcher stellen und sich von der radikalen mitte und den cops haben dafür drangsalieren lassen.

ja da sind auch sehr mackerige shitheads dabei, aber großteils sind das echt liebe angagierte leute.

    because i read through the "UCSF Standards of Care" after i read your article and could not discover any mention of them recommending shorter test cycles at the beginning, only the regular 3 months.

    would be very useful to get my endo to do more frequent tests&adjustments for me too. right now its 4 months, quite shitty 🙄

    Because i just searched through the whole thing again and read around the search terms listed at the end of this post, and there is only "3 Months for the first year, then every year" popping up all over the place.

    and don't worry about not having the time right now.

    i just got curious because i hoped i could get my endo to speed things up a bit. so far your texts have been very well researched and i have not encountered any thing that bugged me as significantly as this right now ^^

    Recommend the same as UCSF-SoC, as well as [1] that they are citing.

    @Impossible_PhD Got so desperate i even looked at the the nhs's guidelines, same. but i discovered that they apparently do not recommend measuring testosterone levels, just E, LH/FSH, SHGB and some other liver and similar values.

    @Impossible_PhD transfemscience states nothing about intervals (at least on the introduction to hrt page) and diyhrt wiki also writes "~3 months"

    the german guidelines don't write anything at all, seems kinda weired, but they link to mostly the same papers as SoC8 and WPATH

    In an earlier post (https://dice.camp/@Shkshkshk/111633486456196055) I asked about waterproof fabrics I could use in my next ruana cloak. I got lots of wonderful feedback, but I just thought of a new problem: at some point, I might decide to use a cloak pin to fasten it. I don't know of any waterproof fabric that can heal from having a pin poked through the middle of it. Are there any at least water resistant fabrics that can handle being pinned?

    @Shkshkshk create dedicated holes for the pin? maybe even with an extra layer in the immediate surrounding fabric for added strength?
