I came across a neat browser extension today. It looks for "rel=me" links pointing to mastodon profiles, and puts it in a little list for you to review.

In other words, you visit a website, and if tells you if there are any mastodon accounts associated to the website.

I've got these smart plugs that I flashed with a few years ago, I wonder if I can detect when it's done washing based on the power draw alone 🤔

F-Droid Basic just got released for the first time. Built from the same code as regular @fdroidorg, it comes with a reduced feature set (no nearby share and no panic feature). Also it targets Android 13 and will soon be able to do unattended updates.

When it says "recycleable" it does not mean "likely to be recycled".

According to my own online research, the #recycling systems in #Europe and the #US are generally most likely to recycle code 1 and 2 plastics, and sometimes code 5.

So just pay attention to the recycling codes and speak after me: "👏 One and 👏 two and 👏 maybe 👏 five!"

Yesterday I broke the of my wife's . I had to change the tube inside the rear tire, and I didn't reattach the rear wheel correctly. I kept turning the nut only on one side until I eventually twisted off the threading of the gear indicator pin.

I identified the gearbox to be a Sprinter S5C Coaster, which was made between 1994 and 1999. I'm gonna have to take the whole thing apart on the weekend. 😩🔧

Does any of you #linux #kernel or @postmarketOS people have any idea what's going on with my #samsung #tablet when I enable #hardware #acceleration in @firefox? It seems like it renders the first few bits of text towards the top and then just stops. It works fine without hardware acceleration, but it's so much smoother with it.

Well, that's it. My #akkoma instance social.fellr.net is no more. It couldn't even delete my old account properly without getting a timeout on the database. Man, I really don't like the way it's designed. I know it's better for the #fediverse if not every instance is #mastodon, but at the moment there is nothing better in terms of reliability. Again, #gotosocial is very promising, but needs a bit more features. They're coming though! #fediadmin #meta

After testing the fourth #Fediverse software I conclude that #Akkoma just isn't for me. It has some nice features, but the whole #Erlang / #Elixir setup is just, idk, weird. And inefficient, too. Contrary to popular belief, #Mastodon seems much more streamlined, and faster. I think I will shut my #Akkoma instance, and stay with #Mastodon alongside #GoToSocial. #GTS will be my ultimate destination once it has matured just a little bit more.
