Interestingly, the .af NIC just suspended inet.af, too. It used to host Go modules. This suggests queer.af maybe wasn't specifically targeted for being LGBTQ+ friendly, but for being unrelated to Afghanistan.

I realized I hadn’t done a tab purge on my work machine in months and closed a few hundred of them, among which a few dozen stack overflow questions about latex, man pages for half the C standard library, random source code listings for the Linux kernel, Minix kernel, busybox, gdb, mosaic (yes the ancient browser), and the php runtime, video encoding specifications, everything i could find on some especially obscure cryptographic algorithm a customer insisted on using, arguments about whether chatgpt has a theory of mind, my timesheet logging page but twenty times, eight godbolts, enormous amounts of qemu networking nonsense, documentation for specific ARM instructions, a complete pdf of Tanenbaum’s Operating Systems Design and Implementation, something about the LTE spec I can’t make heads or tails of, a complete specification of MIPS, the punycode RFC, a list of OpenSSL x.509 errors, a code golf challenge called “seeing the queen’s lasers,” and the wikipedia article on inherently funny words

@lachlan @threatresearch I’ll let you in on a secret: it’s just metallic silver irl, the blue green gradient is from pushing color filters really high in the iOS image app

@BradRubenstein in this photo I used metallic silver ink and then pushed the colors in the photo really hard in post.

With fountain pen inks of similar viscocity, you can “kiss the tips” to get a little back and forth transfer and write with a slight gradient (this works best with pilot parellel nibs) that is visible irl without photo tricks.

(I think the issue here is that the laptop actually cannot suspend no matter how hard you try to convince it, so I have to leave it plugged in all weekend, lid closed but awake, else the battery will be dead Monday morning; hence it's not really aware that Saturday is not Doing Random Tasks That Require User Response Time)
