@br00t4c we are all being held down under very bad governing actors. Innocent civilians get the brunt of these evil war games. Most American ‘people’ don’t want war. Many of us are disgusted. I am sure many Russians don’t want war but have little freedom to express. Palestinians need freedom from Hamas and Israel. Jews need freedom from Israel and global antisemitism. Ukrainians need freedom and peace. Humans currently fail at enjoying our existence on a shared planet.

In the past week, I've discovered a lot of antisemitism among progressives, so it's a relief every time someone recognizes that both Israelis and Palestinians are suffering in this conflict, both groups have civilian victims, and leaders of both are culpable. Hamid posits that even oppressed people have moral agency (meaning both Israelis and Palestinians) and must not commit atrocities. He includes others too, such as American college students backing Hamas.

Hostages need to be released and we need to resolve Israel-Palestinian peacefully intellectually and effectively for both sides. Sadly I think Putin is maniacally laughing as his perfect distraction seems to have worked…
