If you are using and experiencing issues with Xdebug not recognizing the correct domain: Go to herd.conf and swap fastcgi_param SERVER_NAME $server_name; with fastcgi_param SERVER_NAME $host;

@derickr Yes. Might have worded that wrong and it's for PhpStorm. But in the end „Xdebug“ won't work“ (in this IDE)

It's nice to see PHP thriving again under the @thephpf. After the efforts in the past and the latest hires I think the development of the #php language is doing great.

What I'd love to see now, is some focus on:

  1. Marketing: Maybe starting with a modern PHP.net website to get rid of the „PHP is dead“ image and/or more tech content on social media.

  2. Sponsorship for important PHP tools and extensions like Xdebug, PHPStan, PHP CS Fixer, PHPUnit, Rector, to name a few.

Alle, die ein wenig Ahnung von haben warnen seit Jahren vor dieser Fehlkonstruktion, der sogenannten , wo Rad- und Autoverkehr im Kreuzungsvorlauf gemischt werden, weil sie unübersichtlich und gefährlich für alle Verkehrsteilnehmer ist.

Nun ist es also passiert. LKW tötet Radfahrerin an genau dieser Stelle in .

Das auf der Luftbildaufnahme bei Google Maps gleich' zwei Autos den Radweg blockieren ist Zufall. Oder?

Setze gerade testweise einen CockroachDB Cluster samt Loadbalancer auf. Überraschenderweise funktioniert das sogar schon, jetzt fehlt nur noch, den Loadbalancer auch noch redundant zu bekommen.

Schon spannend. Aber eventuell auch ein wenig Overkill. Alles andere wäre ja auch wenig langweilig..

💡TIL: There is a JSON5 spec which is a superset of JSON that allows comments, trailing commas and some more stuff to make it easier for humans to edit.

Why isn't this supported by every tool that uses JSON for config files?

Is Brent Roose on the Fediverse anywhere? I love this idea, and I’d love to help contribute.

I started down the path of trying to port #Pygments to #PHP a while back. I maintained a PHP wrapper for it (https://github.com/ramsey/pygments), and even set up a GitHub organization for “Phygments.” 😉 https://github.com/phygments

I want to help make this happen. Maybe I’ll have to email Brent if he’s not on the Fediverse.

@chris @ramsey I'd really prefer a TextMate solution, too. Brent claimed it would be "easy" to add new syntaxes. But why should we if TextMate already had it figured out?

@ramsey @chris Not sure whether it's easier. But it's the common one. VS Code uses it. PhpStorm uses it. Sublime Text uses it.

@stefanzweifel Yeah, copy pasting is the obvious simple solution 😅I could start with a Laravel command, that asks for the packages I want. Or maybe a package that has all the config, but then you need to be able to configure those again.

    @kubikpixel Kenne mich jetzt mit Rust nicht wirklich aus um zu beurteilen zu können, was Rust anders macht bei der Syntax außer dass es halt mehr low-level und streng typisiert ist.

    When working with PestPHP I was always annoyed that PhpStorm didn't simplify the imported namespace and didn't offer to simplify the FQN of Facades.

    First one is a setting:
    Editor > General > Auto Import > PHP > Enable auto-import in file scope

    Second one can be fixed, by disabling all aliases in a Laravel app by setting 'aliases' => [] in config/app.php.

After a little over a year on #Mastodon, with weekly adjustments to who I follow and which filters I have setup, today I am reminded that mastodon is so much better than those other social media sites: no ads, almost no hate (some still floats by) and lots of techy goodness. 🤗🥰

    @outofcontrol Sounds good. The first one is a Pilsner but a bit more hoppy than other alcohol free beers, because they extract the alcohol afterwards instead of shorter brewing.
    The second one I just tasted once in a restaurant. Not my everyday beer, since I am a Pilsner drinker, but because it is an Ale it was "more special" than other alcohol free beers.
