To everyone pointing out #CrossBorderRail trains aren’t good enough (latest today @jmovs & @Sustainable2050 examples), the question is: WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

Trains from France to Spain are crap. We know.

Does SNCF care? No
Renfe? No
French Government? Of course not
Spanish Government? No
EU? Very vaguely

I know what to fix. But the people who could fix it have weak or no motivation.

@jon @jmovs @Sustainable2050 Would need a Europe wide political party, 'Train Party', that use good rail systems as their main manifesto pledge as a metaphor for a better future. Problem with democratic election calendars is that longer term projects don't get votes for those already in power who want to retain their position.

Hey musicians - I was listening to a thing about Spotify being crappy in terms of rev share. This is a familiar experience for cartoonists on other platforms! SO, if I want to support musicians, what's the best way to consume? Website? YouTube? Physical media?

@ZachWeinersmith what platforms do cartoonists use? Agreed the steaming services for music have a poor payout but surprisingly Amazon is closer to the top of the better payers than the bottom. Merch, live and direct sales will be better for musicians in general. But streaming numbers do help artists with booking festivals and whatnot and their socials.

A bill in Louisiana, HB 777, would make it a crime for librarians to use public funds to join the American Librarian Association or attend an ALA conference, punishable with prison time and hard labor for up to two years.

@flexghost I was learning about the formula that is used to see what day Easter falls on, it starts by adding one to the year then dividing by 19, it is all very interesting and ends up giving the golden number.

    @DrALJONES so your inference is that during the era that the Oscars and the Pontoon dock were created / invented that entertainment was the primary aim for inventions / creations. It skews the message and severity of the situation as if the Oscar nominees will deliver food down the pontoon in their tuxedos.

    Well, Dune 2 is, like the first one, an absolute masterpiece. Almost completely faithful to the book, magnificent visuals and music, great acting, powerful scenes.
