@dansup @dansup The alt text on the post https://pixelfed.social/p/zhang.dianli/699843661291068434?fs=1 doesn't seem to be showing to me for some reason. I'm using Firefox if that helps. A friend I asked to check can see it using Chromium, however.

Do you have any advice?

You can use any one individually, but they will work better together ✨

Pixelfed Live is so fun to use, and I'm working on making it even easier to use end-to-end.

It's one thing to support Live Streaming, but it's a whole other thing to have that baked into an ephemeral feature that is accessible and more popular with the general public than a dedicated video platform or live streaming platform.

I look forward to bringing proper live streaming to the fediverse, via @pixelfed, @loops and @supapp 🚀

I have now ported the majority of my #Instagram posts to the Fediverse using the import feature of @pixelfed. Check out my photos on #Pixelfed @florianr. For my Reels it seems like I will have to wait for the release of @loops, I hope that it will have an import feature too @dansup.

The challenge with a federated DeviantArt platform will be payments, if they can offload that to a 3rd party by allowing users to add links to the store, it could work IMO

Otherwise, each instance would have to host their own Stripe payments account, and other complexities

Not to mention, giving Apple/Google Play 30% of the cut

In @pixelfed, we're handling this by allowing users to add links to specific items that redirect to 3rd party platforms

We can do this, watch me 😎

    @naught101 It really depends on the server your on and if you're an admin or user.

    I bet you are not on the mod team of this server, or you are not included in the popular account suggestions, but I can say that if you were, or even if you watched the local feed of this server, you could see it for yourself!

    I'm so happy I added mass actions to the Curated Onboarding feature

    You may be wondering why https://pixelfed.social closes registration so often, and the reason is we get ALOT of spam registrations

    Our Autospam system prevents them from becoming a problem, but this eliminates potential spammers before they even get a chance

    Take a look for yourself, and remember most growth on the fediverse is spam.

    The dead internet theory is alive, and active if you pay attention.

    Most fedi devs don't 😉

    A few people have asked about Unified Push support in the new Pixelfed app.

    This is something I'd like to support down the road, but for now we will focus on Android/iOS Push Notifications as they are more commonly used.

    I hope you understand my reasoning behind this decision, and am open to any help to get this supported sooner 😉

    I looked into dark mode support for the new :pixelfed: app, and while it's doable, I'm going to focus on Push Notifications before Dark mode support.

    I think most people would agree that Push Notifications are more pressing 😅

    @jonasgeiler Heh, yeah I get that, but I only have so much bandwidth and have to carefully prioritize accordingly.

    Everyone uses push notifications, not everyone uses dark mode, thats a pretty easy metric to get with just common observations

    @liaizon @kaleb @pixelfed Tbh, it would be trivial to implement a DeviantArt UI in Pixelfed

    The challenge is the monetization aspects, the 10K seed funding initiative is cute but won't solve the problem of distributing funds to creators.

    With Pixelfed, we could add support for "buy links" that redirect to a 3rd party store/platform, eliminating much of the complexity of doing this, but like you said, "pixelfed is nothing like Deviantart"
