Question for fellow @actuallyautistic and @actuallyadhd neurodivergent folks:

How do you explain your ideas to neurotypicals?

I constantly struggle because my brain has made connections that are not obvious to others, and when I try to guide them through my thinking I confuse them with details or by skipping explanations that seem obvious to me but completely surprising to anyone else.

Frameworks, links, anything is appreciated!

Bei der EU-Wahl können sich EU-Bürger mit Wohnsitz in Deutschland in das deutsche Wählerverzeichnis eintragen lassen und damit ihre Stimme an Kandidaten aus Deutschland geben.

Eine potenziell gewaltige Zielgruppe, die aber auch bei dieser EU-Wahl anscheinend wieder komplett von allen Parteien im Wahlkampf ignoriert wird.

Das Formular zum Eintrag ins Wählerverzeichnis gibt es unter https://www.bundeswahlleiterin.de/europawahlen/2024/informationen-waehler/unionsbuerger.html Das muss man dann an die lokale Wahlbehörde schicken, bis zum 19.05.2024.

Was u.a. an den verschiedenen Aufrufen irritiert, bei TikTok aktiv zu werden, um der AfD-Präsenz entgegenzuwirken, sind die populären Missverständnisse von Social Media und junge Menschen bzw. was sie machen und wie sie das beeinflusst, diese "naiven Lemminge, die nach ein paar Videos zu AfD-Wähler*innen mutieren".

Beim Thema Israel / Palestina hatte es definitiv einen Effekt. Zahlreiche Jugendliche in meinem Umfeld hatten plötzlich eine Meinung zum Thema Gaza kurz nach dem Angriff der Hamas. Immer in der Richtung Israel ist ein Arpardheitsstaat, Israel versucht die Palästinenser auszulöschen. Und ich habe auch selbst sehr viel solchen Content in meinen Feeds gesehen.

Wie lange die Wirkung einer solchen Kampagne anhält, ist die andere Frage aber es löst etwas aus

Künstler:Innen wie Antilopen Gang / Danger Dan bedienen sich in ihren neuen Songs AfD-Narrativen, wie der des „importierten Antisemitismus”. Der Song „Oktober in Europa” ist da das beste Beispiel.

Das Lied wurde nun rumgereicht und gepriesen von BILD, CDU und FDP. Spätestens ab diesem Punkt sollte man sich fragen ob man nicht doch rechte Narrativen reproduziert und die Debatte rundum Antisemitismus in Deutschland sich von Neu-Rechten angeeignet wurde um wieder gegen Minderheiten und Progressive Gruppierungen zu hetzen.

Sie behaupten indirekt der gestiegene Antisemitismus käme von Linken/Woken, Immigrant:Innen oder jeglichen antirassistischen Gruppierungen. Dabei wird vergessen das zum Beispiel der geplante Anschlag auf eine Synagoge in Halle kein Ausländer oder Immigrant war, sondern ein deutscher Faschist.

Die gezeichneten Davidsterne an Synagogen kommen von der Jungen Alternative / AfD oder anderen Rechtsradikalen Bewegungen wie der Identitären Bewegung. Zumindest die bisher nachgewiesenen.

Nachdem die AfD laut Umfragen 20% Zustimmung in diesem Land hat, schieben Künstler:Innen wie Danger Dan die Schuld des Antisemitismus auf die Ausländer und bedienen sich so diesem AfD-Narrativ?

Ich finde das, neben sehr vielen fehlgeleiteten Aussagen in diesen Liedern, sehr traurig.

Booking multi-month stays places is such a goddamn nightmare. You're stuck between AirBnB on the one hand, which kills cities and is really expensive, and on the other every alternative seems to be at least low-key sketchy. I don't mind rolling the dice for a weekend stay somewhere as worst case I can just book a hotel and fight my credit card company, but for a two month stay? Yeah, no, rather not.

@wordshaper Have you looked into serviced apartments? Of course I don't know where you're going but this is the "traditional" (pre-AirBnB) option in many parts of Asia and Europe. Local hotel chains will offer this too, sometimes called aparthotel or they have a special rate for long-term stays in their regular rooms. These can range from fancy with a concierge etc to sharing a room with a stranger in town for work...

@wordshaper I see, that's too bad. Have you tried booking.com and similar sites as well when looking for serviced apartments( bedroom w kitchenette)? Or is it a short-term rental of a full apartment you're after? Absolutely agree that renting those through some random website made in 2005 is nerve wracking but those are usually the best deals!

Ende November bis zwischen den Jahren hat der Sauhaufen Deutsche drei nicht zugestellt. Ein Tracking endet im Logistikzentrum Göttingen. Bei einem Einschreiben heißt es, es gäbe überhaupt keinen Sendungsstatus (habe aber die Bestelldaten), beim letzten Brief heißt es, man warte auf den Empfang des Briefes, dabei wurde dieser am 20. Dezember eingeworfen.

Das kann alles nicht mehr wahr sein.

@beandev @masek Eine ganz andere Option ist festen Umschlag verwenden und dann per Hermes (4,50€). Eigentlich nehmen die keine Briefe, deswegen muss es ein Papp-Umschlag sein

Ok, es gibt wohl ein Bug mit leicht veralteten Admin Apps, die von Unternehmen eingesetzt werden, die auf Arbeitsprofile einrichten. Mit dem Dezember Update für Android 14 und Installationen wie Google , oder , wird wohl die Berechtigung zur Installation aus unbekannten Quellen unveränderbar für den Hauptaccount festgelegt. Es ist dann nicht mehr möglich apk zu installieren. Nur über USB Debugging und install geht es noch.

Ärgerlich. 🙄

    @SheDrivesMobility (4 Personen Haushalt) wohnen in der Stadt und haben jetzt seit 9 Jahren kein Auto mehr. Als K2 ca. 5 Jahre alt war hatte der Kombi einen Motorschaden und wir haben beschlossen erstmal kein Auto zu kaufen und zu schauen ob das klappt. Nähere Verwandte wohnen im Umland, da fahren wir meistens mit der Bahn, zur Arbeit und Schule haben wir schon vorher kein Auto benutzt. Außer ganz früher als einer von uns in einem Industriepark gearbeitet hat. 1/3

    Ok IT finally came for our lab WiFi router and told us we have to shut it down, so question for any folks out there:

    1. how can they detect that we are using a router, and
    2. how can we avoid that detection so we can keep having the Good Internet

    @jonny Go to the settings of your wifi router and switch off SSID broadcast. Make the name of the router something easy to remember & spell. it now won't show in the network list on your phone. use "add wifi" (or whatever it's called on your phone / computer) and manually type in the wifi name & password. done

    This isn't some kind of wifi magic. Someone really looking for the wifi will still find it but it's no longer visible on the list of available networks

    @jwildeboer Of course, it's your money. But you asked for opinions :) For privacy reasons you can't share more info and that's great. Nobody should share other ppls personal stories if they can be traced back to them. The thing that makes a difference (for me) is not so much the purpose/reason they need money. It's more how the q was asked. Happy to give if it's clear that this will be a gift, a donation etc. Not ok for me is if it's asked as a loan but we all know they will never repay

    Wenn man bei einer #Bahn Verbindung mit Zugbindung wegen Verspätung den Anschluss verpasst, kann man ja jetzt ohne weitere Schritte den nächsten Zug nehmen. Weiß jemand ob das auch für #CrossBorderRail gilt? Also wenn der Anschlusszug in Ausland fährt, in meinem Fall nach Dänemark. Ping auch an den Experten @jon 🙏

    Ich habe nämlich etwas leichtsinnig mit Kind und Kegel eine Verbindung mit nur 17 Minuten Umsteigezeit gebucht und jetzt bekomme ich langsam Zweifel ob das so eine gute Idee war...

    Today's product rec: Polder's kitchen scales. I have one that's used daily (frequently multiple times a day), 15 years old, and finally dying. I figure 15 years is a good run for a piece of inexpensive electronic kit in a messy environment, so its replacement is on the way.

    @wordshaper Why is it that the time period we expect any products to last is getting shorter and shorter? I used to have these scales which I got from my Gma’s house until I dropped them during a move and had to buy new ones in 2009. They were over 40 years old at this point and still perfectly functional.

    @wordshaper I absolutely get that. But many old and sturdy things weren't super expensive either and I feel like we have been duped a little bit into simply accepting that this is not the case for current products as a default. This Polder scale is already at least a mid-range product, you can get cheap digital scales for 5-6 € where I live. But for many products any extra money we spend isn't actually used to increase product quality/ longevity

    @phranck Hast du mal in Polen geschaut? Wir haben an der polnischen Ostseeküste vor eine paar Jahren einen tollen Familienurlaub gemacht und es war alles viel günstiger

    @natenom @fedibikes Nicht in Deutschland weil im Gesetz steht, dass es einen Parkautomaten geben muss. Das Gesetz ist sehr alt und ehrlich gesagt ein Problem. Denn es gibt nur wenige Hersteller, die die "erlaubten" Automaten herstellen und die kommen nicht hinterher. Was dazu führt, dass die Einführung von Parkraumbewirtschaftung in Städten oft nach dem Beschluss Jahre dauert. Vielleicht hätte das 🚲 Parkhaus also noch 5 Jahre länger gebraucht, wenn man auf Automaten gewartet hätte...

    About 3 hours into the new Zelda. It's really good.

    I thought it might boring to have so much of the world "shared" with BoTW but everything really does feel fresh.

    In particular, there are a bunch of mechanics details in the previous Zelda that felt incomplete. You were collecting lots of things, and few of them were usable really. Without going into how, lots of those mechanics feel "complete" now, and there's a lot more there that you might like.

    In many ways both Skyward Sword and Breath of the Wild had some nice things but both felt incomplete to me. Tears of the Kingdom feels like it completes the better ideas of both.
