I believe reporting about events as accurately as possible helps move the world in a positive direction.
I believe voluntary mutual aid is better than imposed mutual destruction.
Resistance to oppression is inherent to all life.
Liberation can not be imposed no matter how well intended, as that only changes whose will is imposed on others.

Just because I keep thinking of how immensely silly they looked, I'll share this video although it was two days ago it was included it in a report on that on May 24 employees of the Center for Banking Services No 714 of Belarusbank in the easternmost town Krychaw/Krichev marched singing "Our father is cool, he is one of a kind in the world" in a song about dictator Lukashenko, by a composer close to the dictatorial family which e.g. wrote the anthem of the prosecutor's office and has been declared the best in the country by the dictator's daughter-in-law.

:-D :-D :-D
They think this is... good.

Martyr Keith Broomfield from Massachusetts remembered in a video by the comrades in the Syrian Democratic Forces alliance whom Keith joined as a part of the People's Defence Units (YPG) to fight against ISIL/Daesh in "a fight against oppression, a fight for freedom" as a sniper, being killed by an injury of combat against ISIL in the legendary resistance of Kobanê/Kobanî to break their siege, on June 3, 2015, 9 years ago today.

The extremely positive impact of Keith and fellow martyrs in life live on after their deaths in self-sacrifice for the cause of freedom and equality, for as long as there is a memory of these times. Thus, martyrs are immortal.

@CatHat Ah, I forgot that detail.

Hmm, well, I feel like it's very much an either/or situation, where some always carry at least 3 guns anywhere and seem to just dream of having an excuse to use them,
while others even in some cases claim they would not even if they were being shot at at the time pick up a found gun to shoot back.

As in many other cases Kropotkin expressed the view I already had when I first read it with something along the lines of that, as freedom revolutionaries we must strive to minimize but not absolutely reject violence as if we seek violence we will create a continuation of oppression with people then wanting our deaths for killing people they cared about, but to entirely refuse violence when oneself or others are being oppressed or killed is suicidal or condoning their abuse.
I'm heavily paraphrasing because it's probably like close to three decades since I read it and I can't remember exactly where it was. Some foreword, I believe.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, Israel ~2h ago bombed areas near Aleppo in northern Syria killing 12 at least Iranian militia.
https://youtu.be/gBUdwaHZV6M

No matter what you think of the despicable Iran-theocracy and its imperialist venture helping bloody dictator al-Assad oppress the people, Iran's forces ARE officially invited by a territory holder (the Damascus government) and therefore de jure has the right to be there (not the right to commit their war crimes, etc against the populace, but that's a different topic) while Israel has NOT been invited by anyone with such a right and Israel was NOT under directly ongoing attack at that time by any forces in Aleppo (NORTHERN Syria, not bordering Israel) and therefore Israel has absolutely no possible claim to "self-defense" in this action which therefore is a pure act of aggression, violating the UN Charter once again, in an obvious attempt by Netanyahu and gang to provoke Iran and its imperialist underlings into taking "retaliatory" action which can then be claimed as those initiating a full-scale regional war, which means that Israel considering the presence of several nuke-powers in the intended conflict escalation by this and similar acts such as earlier this week poses an extreme risk to the entire world. You.

Twitter is now a porn-site.
https://techcrunch.com/2024/06/03/x-tweaks-rules-to-formally-allow-adult-content/
I guess Musk wanted to ensure the platform will be blocked by corporations, etc from their networks.

b9AcE,
@b9AcE@todon.eu avatar

@jasper Yes, but you are not a for-profit corporation with shareholders, a government agency or a church... I don't think? ;-)
Such entities will very likely have strongly voiced demands from members/shareholders/etc to not be on a porn platform, regardless of what either your or I think of it.

b9AcE,
@b9AcE@todon.eu avatar

@jasper Yes.

In my opinion the main reason as many people are still on twitter as they still are now is simply because so many others are too, in a self-sustaining mechanism,
but if e.g. corporate IT-departments are ordered to block access to twitter because it is considered a porn-site, that decreases at lot of people's presence on their and if the corporations also consider that they don't want to advertise their products on or issue statements or other PR where it may be right next to platform-endorsed porn, then that removes a lot of the content that people are there to consume.
If politicians campaigning for power see a similar risk then they will not want to campaign there either, because it creates a risk of undesired association, loss of votes, etc.
Without the politicians present a large part of the news-media likewise will not have as much reason to be present there anymore, as they will not have to keep checking if any politicians or corporations made important statements there and now taken all together there is a negative spiral of reasons for people to be there, so people can go elsewhere,
like here, where each corporation, political party, politicians, news-outlet, etc can in theory own their own instance and have complete control over what is published next to its content.

The latest press release from the People's Defence Forces (HPG) Geneva Conventions compliant guerrilla of the PKK defending against Erdoğan's imperialist war of aggression in S Kurdistan/N Iraq.

The ban against using chemical weapons in warfare is absolute.
Except apparently if it is inconvenient to NATO, EU and Putin at the same time,
in which case the organization that has taken upon itself to investigate every such instance, OPCW, will resolutely... call the police on people protesting its inaction outside its HQ and refuse to investigate the videos and soil samples sent to it, just as it refused to reject the bribe it proudly publicly announced having received from Turkey just before Erdoğan began the chemical warfare.

Quite excited looking forward to Noctua's "next-generation NH-D15" (https://noctua.at/en/product-roadmap).

The central dictatorship government of Turkey has begun its purging of the people's will in landslide electoral victories, just as it usurped the will of almost all of those local local elections the previous period, by revoking the won posts and replacing with "trustees" through decree and in a persecutional manner prosecuting the elected as "terrorists" implicitly but clearly and methodically for having won elections.

The co-chairs and members of the anti-racist, antifascist, feminist and encironmental DEM Party as well as its ally Democratic Regions Party (DBP) held a sit-in through the night in Colemêrg/Hakkari in protest against the usurpation of the people's electoral will by replacing the elected Mayor and arresting on claims of "terrorism" for being elected for the exclusively electoral politics party as was done to almost all of those elected to local positions for the equivalent party during the previous mandate period.

Apparently it was very scary for the dictatorship that the political party leaders sat down, because police came and surrounded them.

Kati Piri, member of the House of Representatives of the Netherlands for the Labour Party, commented on dictator Erdoğan's usurpation of the people's will as clearly expressed in recent local election in Colemêrg/Hakkari.

─────
Erdogan believes democracy is perfectly fine, as long as you vote for his party.

The people of Hakkari elected their Kurdish mayor Mehmet Sıddık Akış just two months ago.

Arresting and replacing him with a government trustee is NOT democracy.

After forcing through the "Putin-law"/"Russian law" requiring e.g. NGOs with outside funding (e.g. if you donated via Amnesty International, HRW, etc) in Georgia to register as "foreign agent", in spite of huge protests and presidential veto, here comes the next step by the Orabán-ally ruling party:
a first reading in parliament will take place this month for a proposed legislation banning "LGBTQI-propaganda" similar to the one in far-right authoritarian Putin's Russia since more than a decade where it has been made further and further wide reaching to the point that now people are fined or worse for just a picture with a rainbow (yes, actually). All in the name of "traditional family values" and blaming it on the children.

The eradication of academic independence in Turkey by the dictator by decree taking the power to appoint the universities' bosses without any need for academic experience, which was valiantly protested by university students and staff especially at the prestigious Boğaziçi University leading to mass-expelling/firings, denial of graduation, police brutality, etc for simple acts like standing apart on a lawn,
has now been ruled unconstitutional by the Constitutional Court of Turkey.
https://www.duvarenglish.com/top-court-rules-turkish-presidents-appointment-of-university-rectors-unconstitutional-news-64451

It is noteworthy and somewhat related that it is required by the constitution of Turkey for the President to have a university degree,
which Erdoğan has not managed to show having any even after having been in office for a decade, so the entire rulership is seemingly invalid.

Microsoft's crappy "diskpart" storage device management tool is the only place I can remember ever using Hollywood's view on how computers work from movies and it actually working that way, after a full profession lifetime as an IT-consultant mostly in servers administration.

To paraphrase:
-Delete partition!
-Protected! Cannot delete!
-Override!
-Okey-dokey!
It's like a parody of how clueless people portray "hackers" using computers, but is instead Microsoft being "serious".
