Look at this Kue Lumpur from #Indonesia! This traditional cake is made of flour and coconut milk and topped with raisins. It's also known as "mud cake."

Sharing with you my second hobby besides the #herstory #southeastasia #podcast -- #sewing !! I'm still very new to this but here are two outfits I've worn out into the world. They're made out of used flour sacks that might otherwise end up at the landfill. The bucket hat is reversible. I'm currently working on versatile and functional dress designs that work well with weight changes and can be used in different types of weather. Will share updates as I learn more. ✨️

This is a delicacy common in Mindanao and the #Sulu Archipelago in the #Philippines . It is also referred to as jaa in Sulu. Usually served on special occasions like Eid al-Fitr. Extremely crunchy. Chanced upon this at Palenque yesterday!

#SoutheastAsia has amazing cuisine! This is the Tahu Udang (literally: shrimp tofu) at Cafe Batavia in Kota Tua, #Jakarta #Indonesia — the second oldest building in Taman Fatahillah which I visited earlier this year.

I'm still very surprised at how much the campus has changed in recent years. Gyud Food Market, a huge food court with a variety of offerings that are sortaaa above student budget, was unimaginable during my undergraduate days.

A hot bowl of Vegetarian Bún Bò Huê from a rainy night in Ho Chi Minh City. The dish originates from Huế, a city in central #Vietnam and typically has beef. However, I don't eat mammals, so our guide made sure mine was vegetarian. Heartier than Phở but also has the staple herbs you know and love!

📍 Vietnamese Cuisine, Pagetek Foodcourt

Pagetek in Cuyonon means to fill one's stomach! It's a foodcourt along the main road right across Itoy's Coffee Haus (they serve the iconic cashew frappe).

This is Vietnamese Cuisine's seafood bowl (lots of garlic and a bit of surprise with the pineapple mixed in) and their excellent garlic cheese bread. I also liked their honey citron fruit tea, very generous with the berries. No photo, drank too fast...

Something a little different for #MakanApaToday — the Shoyu Caramel Popcorn Cappuccino at Key Coffee, Bonifacio Global City (BGC). Part coffee, part dessert, surprisingly balanced, highly recommended for hot days like this.

Ordered Larb Gai from a restaurant called Thai Plate in #Manila. It's made of browned ground chicken, mint, basil and red onions dressed with lime juice and ground red chili. Paired with seafood Tom Kha or Thai coconut soup but forgot to take a photo! I prefer Tom Kha over Tom Yum.
