I only transferred because my instance shut down. For me, the instance doesn't make too much difference, except when I go to the explore tab (those are the most popular posts for your instance).

I’ve been learning about Buddhism. Sometimes it’s said that human brains are like monkeys. I think I’m more like my cat, though: she yells at the bathroom door because it’s closed, but she doesn’t actually want to be in the bathroom. You open the door, she sees the shower door is closed, she yells at it. You open it, and she leaves. That’s my brain also. I just don’t like closed doors.

I don't know what it is about fajitas, but they always calm me down.

This place, Taqueria Michoacan in Ukiah CA US, makes fantastic fajitas, with the onions caramelized just right and strips of jalapenos just as big.

Happy place.

Power outage, so l'm working from the Rivian.

It is unreal that I can sit here with the A/C running, the stereo blasting, phone and laptop plugged in, etc, and only use ~2% per hour.

But when I did the same thing over the winter, with the heater, the power usage was triple — like 6% per hour.

The absolute difference is approximately the same — about 30℉. (100 to 70 today, 40 to 70 over the winter.)

It feels odd that, somehow, generating heat is the less efficient of those two operations.
