this is such an amazing statement of principle, childcare costs and commitments too often leave parents and especially women disenfranchised and underrepresented in politics. And as the childcare crisis pushes more and more people out of Anchorage and our state as a whole it is vital to make every effort to include those people in the conversation

    Watching a YT video about new iOS 17 features. Evidently the Notes app now lets you link between notes.

    Huzzah! Notes has finally caught up with Hypercard, feature-wise. Color me impressed, Apple! :ablobcathappypaws:

    Notes team is killing it! slowly but surely, It makes me wonder what it would look like if the rest of the os and apps had this level of continuous improvement. But who knows maybe they are just getting ready to leave the notes app stagnant for another 5 years

    Maybe this article is worth reading (even if discussing it with the author on space karen's right-wing social media site isn't) Like sure we need more leftist progressivism in discourse, but it seems like it might be more "rah-rah let's spend on first" leftist that isn't getting us anywhere (except diverted into boondoggles) and fails to acknowledge that the govt has been captured by billionaires and used to impose cars on everyone.

    If we could simply go out and work on our #transportation problems, we could fix the vast majority of them tomorrow. We could implement cheap, temporary solutions until a proper #redesign could be done. We could reprogram signals, paint crosswalks, and create protected bike lanes, everywhere, if only it were legal to do so.

    But, it is far too complicated, expensive and difficult to do anything in the current system. So, we continue to let our #cities and designs fail us.

    in hopes that as I and other members of my union fight for these issues as we go into contract arbitration next year that those willing show their support for the people who work hard to deliver your mail to you every day. Support from the public can be an essential part of these local and national conversations and has a huge effect on the working lives of over 600,000 workers of one of one of the largest employers in the country.

    From toxic supervisors threatening to retaliate for submiting safe
    ty reports to discriminating against employees after receiving on the job injuries. It always seems like management is locked in a war to try and make the lives of every postal worker here as miserable as possible.

    In my time at the Chugiak Post office over the last 3 years I have been witness to a deterioration of the positive work environment that originally drew me to the little office I now call my work home. Through incompetence, malice, and neglect Postal management has made a workplace where every day me and my coworkers come to our workplace with dread and concern over what will happen to us next

    So I stood up and became a steward to fight for the rights of me and my coworkers. But then the retaliation and harassment only intensified. I was told to stop screwing with management and that if I didn't stop fighting for the right
    s of me and my coworkers he would reduce my hours to the point where I couldn't afford my mortgage and I would get evicted from my home.

    But this is not an isolated issue, it is part of a national trend of harassment and disrespect from postal management at all levels and it is time for it to stop.

    Got surprised yesterday by being added to the tele town hall regarding energy with Congresswoman Mary Peltola. Guess all those emails got me added to the phone list lol. Overall a fine conversation, lots of sidetracking from residents on their hobby horse issues. Some negatives Mary Peltola said that she thinks that climate activism is mostly coming from out of state , that most Alaskans support oil, and that climate extremists are hypocrites for using laptops and planes. Sigh
