If you want to give your site a fresh coat of paint (and never get to it), or if you are “redesigning in the open” (and never get to it), then I’d like to have a word with you.
To everyone else, I just wanted to let you know that my site now has a Links section. Again.
The site #redesign has taken on a lot of additional but unforeseen tasks and I hope to document them all (!) in the v7 post but for now you can read about the outgoing #blogDesign v6 of Observer:
Another #ReDesign from mom’s dress to new vision! And she even used mom’s jacket at her wedding!
The original bodice had cap sleeves. I reshaped it to deep Vs and added French lace for texture and side mesh for an up to date look.
The tulle overskirt with the train was added as a removable piece, using some of the original fabric for the waistband.
Using dead stock and collected pieces I had already was such a great way to make this project even more sustainable! #bridal#vintage#upcycling
One of my brides shared some photos post wedding- the first was taken day 1- her mom’s dress that she could have worn as it, but she had a vision in mind! Photo 2 is from the big day- modifying the neckline, sleeves, and waistline to personalize it for her was an in depth adventure! Very pleased with the result! #TAVCreations#designer#bridal#ottawaSewist#reDesign#AlterationsSpecialist#reuse#vintage#maker#sewing
Remember #Patreon set up new on-by-default sharing of your account information with every other Patreon user (and maybe the world)? Remember people posting how to turn it off, because they were using confusing language/dark patterns to try to #trick you into oversharing?
I got the "welcome to the new Patreon" today, and ... they've turned the "Community Profile" setting back on after I deliberately turned it off.
I gotta say, they really sh*t the bed on this #redesign. It's #TERRIBLE. It's huge, it's #slow, and like way too many new designs these days, it wastes an inordinate amount of the available screen space, so it's hardly showing you any actual content at all.
The old feed was approximately 237 times more useful than the new design. Give or take.
If we could simply go out and work on our #transportation problems, we could fix the vast majority of them tomorrow. We could implement cheap, temporary solutions until a proper #redesign could be done. We could reprogram signals, paint crosswalks, and create protected bike lanes, everywhere, if only it were legal to do so.
But, it is far too complicated, expensive and difficult to do anything in the current system. So, we continue to let our #cities and designs fail us.
Redesign bei Slack: Das ändert sich am User-Interface
In den letzten drei Jahren hat Slack zahlreiche Features herausgebracht, ohne die Benutzeroberfläche großartig anzupassen. Jetzt wird es Zeit für ein Redesign.
