When I was a little kid, with my own radio (finally!) in my room, Diamonds & Rust was the first song I had ever heard by Judas Priest and I was instantly on board.
I was a bit shocked to find out many years later that it wasn't an original by them, but a cover song.

Whew - common sense prevails in one of the smallest markets in the - the Kansas City Royals asked the city if they would want a new stadium closer to center downtown. The answer was a cautious "yes." But just a few weeks ago, when the Royals unveiled their development proposal, it was for a site that was never discussed, sending some small local biz owners into a spiral, because they were watched their near-future plans implode.
So 's entertainment/service/minority sectors fought back

The vote to deny or award the Kansas City Royals a new stadium generated quite a large voter participation rate, which is rare in #KCMO - thanks in part to a groundswell of organic messaging by KC's creative community, tenants rights groups and public media outlets that moved people to polls on Tues, even though the Vote Yes factions outspent them, to the tune of $3M vs Vote No's $42k

1995 math rock/noise rock album from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Loud, angular, discordant. Aggressive up front, although the album calms down a bit towards the back end.

Pro-tip: if you ever want to annoy co-workers, try putting on "Repeat Defender," especially from about 4:28-5:48!

@LadyMarth01 Back in 92 a friend handed me For Respect & told me to "give it 2 listens." I hadn't really heard a band be led by a drummer, at that point.

Cut to years later, suddenly I noticed a few musicians around using the Akai H-1 Headrush delay/looper (I put it in my rig for 15 years just because I loved the simplicity and accuracy) and all of them had pulled one because there was a rumor that was Ian's looper of choice on the road. Up to then, had never seen one randomly in a rig

The LEVEL UP in aggression, intensity, experimentation and virtuosity from Cowboys to Vulgar to Far Beyond Driven is probably one of the most acute in the history of #metal - the fact that Dime incorporated such a distinct tool into his arsenal of #guitareffects with the Whammy on this album, but still make it his own is something I'll always respect. Good Friends & A Bottle of Pills made the hair on my neck stand up, even after the previous 4 tracks going harder & crazier.

Barry Oursler, a #pinball designer legend who sadly passed away while attempting to re-enter the game design industry through American Pinball, will now have his final design released. It's a #BBQ themed machine based on original IP, which is becoming more of a rarity in today's modern game.
It will be called Barry O's BBQ Challenge, and the early design by Barry was brought into final prototype by Dennis Nordman & Steve Bowden.

@RickiTarr I'm pretty sure I've seen this in action. I live in an old growth neighborhood. Some of the oak trees are 6 stories.
I've watched more than one squirrel fall from nearly the entire height of one of them directly onto pavement and bounce up and run away after a few seconds.

...

Unless they have regenerative powers like Wolverine or something...

On old Twitter, I asked KCMO City Councilperson Eric Bunch about property taxes on the proposed Downtown site for the Royals stadium plan. The same site that is the site of The Star Pavilion, now owned by members of the Privitera family. I don't have the time and resources to confirm, but the current owners are likely not paying property taxes on the site either. In other words, the site continues to NOT generate millions in property taxes 4 #JOCO
