@jonasnuts na verdade há muita dificuldade em implementar isto por haver falta de informáticos na quantidade que a lei exige em cada município.
Eu não acredito muito nesta medida, eu acho que a localização não é o que causa a abstenção, nunca demorei mais que alguns minutos para votar e vivo na sede de um dos municípios mais populados...

What's the protocol when someone emails you asking you to "give up" the domain you've owned for 25 years because "You're only using it for a blog", and they want to use it for a community they want to build, and they don't want to have "JoinFoo" dot com.

Do nothing? Explain that other TLDs are available? Tell them to "Jog on?"

I assume there is a very good technical reason for to use , but honestly, after years of getting more and more approachable by casual users, having to fiddle with the command line every few weeks because the system complains it can't update this or that feels like a huge step back.

@j_bertolotti there are many.
It's a much superior format to tradicional, even if it still has rough edges.
It's more secure, it allows for easy rollbacks, it deals way better with failures on the package manger to install or update of the package, it also allows easier support to more versions of an OS with the same package revision, It allows tracks and channels, it goes faster from developer to users, etc...

@j_bertolotti I don't know what you can't update exactly... But with snaps there's only one thing at this moment that requires to use the CLI, and doesn't update that often it's the snap-store/app center.

O site do Partido Socialista
está com problemas intermitentes esta manhã, há várias explicações possíveis, desde as pessoas que querem ir ao site do PS conhecer as propostas do partido, até um ataque DoS/DDoS.

Uma coisa é óbvia para quem tiver conhecimentos técnicos e olhar com atenção para a mensagem erro, o site não está claramente preparado para aguentar um número elevado de utilizadores.

A base de dados corre no mesmo serviço que o CMS o que demonstra que não há nenhum esforço de ter uma arquitectura minimamente robusta para lidar com carga que nem precisa de ser muito elevada.

Este desleixo é ironicamente ilustrativo das políticas e da preparação dos políticos do Partido Socialista para o digital.

Isto está ao nível de: o sobrinho de alguém "que percebe de Internet" fez o site.

@popey Unless there's another unverified device/session It shouldn't appear at all, that's my experience, never seen something like that.
My suggestion would be to remove all sessions and add them all again, but that is a big nuisance...

@froztbyte @lritter it's not. ffmepg is not on main, that means unless someone on the community makes the patch there would likely not be a patch if the Ubuntu Security team wasn't making them as part of Ubuntu Pro.

@Doomed_Daniel @froztbyte @lritter the packages have as far as I remember always been there on universe.

Also Ubuntu Pro is available at no cost for the needs of most.

For a package to be on main, it has to follow a certain set of requirements, and go through a specific procedure that will ensure that it's viable for it to be on main.
ImageMagick in particular, because of it's security historic is on my opinion, unlikely to be fit to be on main.

They don't simply repackage, that's incorrect, you need to learn more about how Ubuntu is made and doing that work has a cost.

Um dos resultados fixes da #FestaSoftwareLivre2023 e de as pessoas que lá foram e que não fazem parte (ainda) de nenhuma das comunidades, terem visto que não estão sozinhas é que agora querem nas suas cidades organizar pequenas comunidades locais.
Eu acho que é uma excelente ideia!

@Tick_Dracy já agora o problema não é apenas ser tendêncioso, é roubar artigos dos outros, é ter montes de erros nos que faz e até ter feito artigos ao estilo de tutorial, com código cuja autoria é de outros sem nunca dar crédito e pior: dizendo ser o autor.

Não há o mínimo aceitável ali.
