Third day in a row of 40mph winds, so no cycling for me today 😭
If there were safe, separated bike lanes in my area, I'd ride; but the risk of being blown under a vehicle on these awful car-infested roads is too great. Meh.

My bike is off being serviced, so it'll be a day of walking everywhere. A lot slower, but it'll give me time to listen to some podcasts on the way.

I got some bone-conduction headphones for Christmas, and they're proving to be so useful for walking, allowing me to listen but still hear the motorists screeching around 🤔

Advice needed
There is a consultation in my town, about proposed new cycling and walking routes.
This has happened before, and the schemes never went ahead, because motorists vastly outnumber cyclists, so there were more negative responses than positive ones.

Does anyone have any advice / experience on taking part in these consultations and some reasonable arguments I could put forward?

I did the first cycle commute of the year tonight. It's so great being back on the bike.
I went along the river and this old disused crane has been transformed by LEDs. It made for a pretty ride 😀

Saw a headline on the Toronto Star site this morning: "What are Canadians willing to sacrifice in the fight against climate change?" It seems to me the answer in many, perhaps most cases is absolutely nothing. And right wing parties are in the ascendancy across the country as they go out of the way to validate voter selfishness.

I saw this really cool #bike outside the gym. It looks a bit like a Moulton, but was only attached with a thin cable lock. Which kinda makes me hope it isn't a real one(!)

Tonight, Father Christmas and the Grinch did a festive ride around our town, to the Christmas Markets.
Lots of people laughed at our costumes, so hopefully it brought some fun to a dull, freezing night 😁

I finished editing and uploading the video. It's now processing. It's going to release on Sunday morning at 6:50am CST.

I feel like I need to figure out my next trip, because I have little motivation to train right now. I think I'm about a month into the post-trip/post-training downers.

I did my first ride home from the gym in the dark tonight. The fairy lights made a group of runners laugh and I noticed pedestrians pointing.
It's so silly, but I really like that it makes people smile. Hopefully it spreads a bit of positivity 😁
