Golden Leaf

I came across this leaf as I was hiking below Yosemite Falls during in the fall.
I really liked how it seemed to be defying mother nature by holding on to the branch of the tree even as snow clung to the edges of the leaf. Golden Falls

During the spring the Dogwoods in Yosemite have large white flowers. In the fall the leaves turn yellow and fall off the tree.
An early fall storm hit the valley and dropped a good amount of snow.
I used Intentional Camera Movement to create a waterfall affect for this.
The green background from the cedars blends well with the yellow dogwoods.

The sudden explosion of teeny baby bunnies around here is lovely to see.

This ledge was the last thing between me and the final approach to a summit on a I hiked early last May. The 15-foot-high structure was -free and dry, making the foot holds easy. Looking to hike this trail again soon on my first multi-day backpacking trip of the year! Camping below the line, then hiking up into the wintry upper elevations.

Mirror Lake

Mirror Lake sits near the eastern end of Yosemite Valley with Half Dome to the south and North Dome to the north. Clouds Rest, shown here back right is to the east.
The lake is slowly filling in with gravel and silt that gets carried down the mountains during the rains becoming more of a seasonal pond.
