#FollowFriday I recommend @IrishMECFSAssociation if you are interested in studies and #research about #LongCovid#MECFS etc. They provide international informations.
I am going down the rabbit hole with research for my new story. What I was originally planning to have as cosmic horror is becoming more and more eco-horror based on the history of New Brunswick. There’s so much going on here: expropriation for Base Gagetown and Mactaquac, huge amounts of DDT sprayed everywhere, rampant deforestation, and heavy testing of Agent Orange (and all the other rainbow herbicides). Who needs Cthulhu when there’s corporate/military/industrial poisoning on a grand scale? And that’s not even getting into the fracking. #Writing#Research#NewBrunswick#CanadianHistory
Abandoned farmlands could play a role in fighting climate change. A new study shows exactly where they are.
Farmland could be used to grow crops like switchgrass or sorghum, which can trap carbon in the soil and serve as feedstocks for biofuels and replacements for petrochemicals. #ClimateChange#Research#Science
Regarding the Research mechanic: it's a timeline of Industrial Revolution inventions. They happen in the outside world independently.
You use Research Points to unlock or invest in them (to make them available earlier, as if your scientists were participating in the global scientific community).
This study aims to find out about trans people's participation in domestic tasks and to find out whether or not their experiences differ due to their upbringing or life experiences.
Early career researchers want Open Science, Farnham et al (2024) :
"Open #Science is encouraged by the European Union and many other political and scientific institutions. However, scientific practice is proving slow to change. We propose, as early career researchers, that it is our task to change scientific #research into open scientific research and commit to #OpenScience principles."
