Sometimes, briefly, I miss my days as an influencer online. That was never my plan, but as you know, the former Twitter used Algorithms. The more engagement you made, the higher your presence became. My followers have always been higher than the amount I follow. The more I follow, the less I see, caught up in a fast moving stream of (mostly garbage) ReTweets. #ENGAGEMENT is not Boosting or Liking, it's responding, dialogue, comments, and conversation. #Influencer#Klout#Twitter#Gifts#Thread
One Thing I disliked about large accounts: the lack of engagement. Sure, people ReTweeted, Reshared & discussed my tweets, but they also spammed me, or tried to get me to talk, simply to boost their influence level. #Photographers would @ Tag me daily, hoping I would RT their photos. There was no ENGAGEMENT, they were spamming me.
When I dropped that account entirely, they still @ mention me blindly. They don't even know (or care) the account is gone?

'The Marnie Archives are the work of a man who has been completely uncompromising in his choice of life path, sacrificing financial security, relationships and even home life for his craft.... Marc’s vast archive was nearly lost when the basement where they were stored was flooded. Now he’s trying to preserve the prints by digitising them for posterity. He reckons 90% of them have never yet been seen.'
Hey y'all #photographers in the #Fediverse - very intrigued about using a #Leica, but have no experience with it. Looking to learn about it and also, recommendations about cameras that are equivalent. So?
'Aurel Manea has released copyright on 4,700 high-resolution photos of mostly landscapes. The highlights include dazzling photos of the Northern Lights, the Tuscan hills of Italy, and Monument Valley in Arizona.'
I know someone who is in need of good photo editing software, something similar to photoshop. She can't afford photoshop right now, but still wants to be able to effectively edit her images.
For many outside the #Gaming bubble, #VirtualPhotography is not yet that exciting. But I think #photographers can also risk a look and see if there are successful works among the pictures @PixelSteph :comfycamera:

Billowing storm clouds greeted us this evening as we headed to the beach for sunset. Big storms were raining themselves out over the Gulf of Mexico and the rain shafts obscured the sun from view. The beach was deserted due to dangerous lightening from the storms.

"It was a life of getting to places fast, of tips, winks and confidences. Verzi drove a VW Beetle and traveled with cameras and colored index cards for autographs." —For #LosAngelesTimes, Jeffrey Fleishman tells the fascinating story of an eccentric celebrity photographer.
