The light was beautiful this morning. All hazy, gentle and soft. The path in the middle on the right is the entrance to the #stumpery. Lots of new planting this year, which will only reach full height next year.
She is trying to get the U.S. to take extreme heat more seriously. Here's how
"... [E]xtreme heat killed more people in the U.S. last year than hurricanes, floods, lightning or tornadoes, according to the National Weather Service. Kathy Baughman McLeod says it doesn't have to be this way."
Plantain, Yarrow, Calendula, Chamomile, Fennel, and Rose Petals infusing in an oil for a month. The Plantain and Yarrow are foraged from nearby woodland, the Calendula, Chamomile and Fennel from the garden, and rose petals are bought. Once it's infused, I'll make a topical balm with our bees wax. Yay.
A key tenet of learning tech is focus. Depth is more important than shallow wide ranging knowledge (which of course is untrue in some roles). As #engineers there’s a #natural#tension - #FOMO - between what you #know, what you are “#expert” in and what you believe others know that you don’t. We tend (as #humans) to place a higher value on things we don’t know - the grass is ALWAYS #greener. Instead - consider the right #tool for the #job and let the rest sort itself out. #tech
In winter, the birds must remember where they’ve hidden tens of thousands of seeds. Biologist Vladimir Pravosudov explains what this can teach us about how the brain evolves.
Washington needs between 35 to 85 safe haven structures along the coast. Right now there is just one. If a the big quake hits thirty to sixty-foot tsunami waves would reach outer beaches within 10 to 20 minutes.
In my opininion here is the real power of current-level #LLM’s: Declarative #programming via close-to-natural language type prompts.
It’s not just productivity, so many more people can get into programming now! No need to understand loops, branches, conditions! It’s all doable by natural language.
You only need to dabble a bit in states and data storage structures. Just wonderful!
Mom says - 'My pride. My dignity. It's all I have left. You're asking me to strip all that remains of my soul & spirit.'
I wish more folks would understand the spot I'm in right now.
@KashifShah My Mom's a keeper. I was raised to respect nature first & worship humans - second. I wasn't ever raised with any organized religions, getting in the way of #natural connections to worlds beyond human needs. I believe humans started to kill nature - when it started to build temples/buildings for worship. Not recognizing true worship requires no buildings or doctrines. True worship requires full stripping of egos built up by human religious interpretations. Not constraining - nature.

Tsunami Escape - Washington doesn't have enough safe haven structures along its coasts (www.youtube.com)

A sticky situation.
Our groups favorite type of cache overall from last season. Somewhat easy to make, far more fun and environmentally neutral than snap-lids.
