English soccer is a shortening of "associated football, Italian "calcio," meaning "to kick", Hungarian' "labdarúgás" (ball+kick) & Slovenian "nogomet" (leg+throw).
Last night, my 9 year olds won their indoor soccer game against a very tough opponent 3-1. They played what is quite possibly their best game of the season. Very proud of the entire team.
I'm thankful to have kids on a team with parents' who are good sports and encouraging, mostly, to the kids. I've seen the opposite with discouraging / angry parents and I am glad we don't have that.
