The design and fabrication of customized #microwells and #microfluidic chips is often challenging. This #PLOSBiology study describes a pipeline for resin-based 3D printed constructs and provides a variety of applications in biological #experiments.
One of the most interesting, and at the same time disturbing (due to the sheer amount of hair raising #chemical#safety – uh – "issues") videos about the most extreme #rocketry#experiments done in the mid 20th century. I can thoroughly recommend watching the whole thing.
I was thinking about experimenting with mica powders to make my own shimmer inks and found this article. I’m sure I’ll find others as I research what powders to pick up. Anyone have any experiments in this area they want to share?
For the #ArtAdventCalendar today, a piece of #embroidery. Unfortunately you can't see what's special about this; there is no sign of stitching on the back, because I was experimenting with stitching within the thickness of the felt. #HandEmbroidery#experiments
Great news for all chemistry students , AI will probably not replace you (yet), although generative AI can help in first year maths and physics questions, it struggles with chemistry. Not so strange maybe, it's less straight forward and exact.
At the same time GPT4 is amazing in analysing questions just from looking at a picture. #GPT4#experiments#generativeAI#ai#chemistry
fyi: if you accidentally buy lemon lacroix insead of limoncello lecroix and you have vanilla extract it's about 1/8th tsp (0.6ml) vanilla extract to the can to make what you actually meant to buy
also if you take half a glass of unsweetened tea and add a teaspoon (5 ml volume) of sugar and mix that and then add half a can of lemon lacroix you get something that isn't quite a carbonated arnold palmer but isn't bad either
Ahhh, well... I got my F# URL Template parser + URL Parser ready to start experimenting more with it
Next phase is to compare results between parsing templates/url and see if they match, with that I can actually start building a router-like abstraction for Avalonia UI Desktop applications!
At least that's the goal, hopefully I won't run out of energy before that 😅
The #freezer#experiments for #diy excess #solar power usage/"storage" ("charge" salt water to ice during the day, let it melt during the night) continue. Today: duty cycle with dust, cleaned and currently running: 16x 120x120mm cooling fans. Theory: if the radiator stays 10°C cooler the compressor needs to work with 10°C less temperature difference = better efficiency / lower duty cycle.
Exactly. Remember in #Memento, when they did the #experiments on Sammy Jankis, giving him electric shocks to see if he ever learned to avoid those objects even though he couldn't make memories normally?
Our government is Sammy Jankis. Minus Stephen #Tobolowsky's charm.
Interesting. I'm skeptical about the accuracy of the bathroom scale I'm currently using; I took some screenshots that I think illustrate my skepticism: I feel like I am seeing too quick a drop in numbers this week than is realistic. Photos: 7 days vs 4 weeks. I need to test against an object that should show no weight change and see if the number holds across a few days. Then at least I'll know if the scale is trustworthy. #Fitness#Experiments
