I bought a gallon of #Incly#epoxy#resin, only to find out it was the same as #Nicpro resin I had been avoiding on account of one experience of being overwhelmed by the candy fragrance. But this time I had no problem, and again it was an excellent resin. I made this tray for the (exceedingly cheap, but barely functional) acacia-wood salt and pepper grinders and am letting the tray harden. (cont'd)
This #clock face is full of bubbles because the fast-curing #epoxy was already warm from the reaction when I added the pigment and poured. The result was too good to throw away and I decided it would make a nice clock face. I painted on the hours in unblended Winsor & Newton Galeria acrylics colors, using polar graph paper taped to the back as a guide. https://www.instagram.com/p/C7o-1PWRt9_/?igsh=MTh4dDRlNzM3c2E4
There, we poured some of the #Pilot#red#fountainPen#ink into a rather imperfect bottle I recently cast from an #epoxy#resin I was not fond of and wished to use up. Now I shall try this ink to see if I prefer it to Noodler's "Cayenne". Pilot makes excellent black and blue-black inks, after all, so maybe the red is very good, too. (Cayenne is easily the best red for my rubrication needs of those I have used so far.) https://www.instagram.com/p/C7mbGVYRd4T/?igsh=MXdrOGxkdDZjNmVpaw==
Epoxers, gluers, DIYers, hear my call! Okay so I got these yellow silicone things called Paint Pucks that suction to the inside of your water container and give you a spot to clean brushes. GENIUS! LIFE CHANGING! (Trust me) Except the little pucker keeps falling off. I tried two-part epoxy (with great epoxy comes great epoxibility HAHA HA 🦗) but it didn't work. The epoxy stuck (observe the nipple) but didn't adhere to the silicone. 😩 Is there a glue solution here?
I usually sand my #epoxy#resin pieces to a gloss but I am so sick of #sanding that I tried finishing a set of magnet sliders with UV resin. I sanded the surface up to 600 grit and then cleaned it with isopropyl alcohol. After curing, the top coat instantly delaminated when I pulled the masking tape off the edges. Chucking these into the fail bag. #3dprinting#adhd#fidget#desktoy#autism#sensory#anxiety#handmade#tchotchke
