Had a little trip to #Amsterdam today, which has one of the few stores in my country that carries #Japanese#CDs (whereas #Korean is in every record store now). Picked up a few more to grow the collection.
I actually never listened to #Diva and #GirlNextDoor, but they looked interesting and didn't cost that much so I figured I'd take them old fashioned style.
「 CDP-897 is a unit from 1992. It’s 32 years old, and it works flawlessly. All buttons work, CD reading is spot on, audio it generates through all outputs is clear. It even came with a full service manual, which till this can day can be easily found on the web. Nowadays not many things exist after 5 years of purchase, and here I am. Just another happy owner in the 30-year history of this player. 」
Released way back in 1989, this 2-CD collection continues to be the best Jimi Hendrix compilation ever released. The 32 tracks were originally spread over three vinyl LPs in the late 70s. #JimiHendrix#CD#CompactDisc#RepriseRecords
I told myself I wouldn't keep buying the #vinyl I gave away when I moved to #CD, but when you come across the seminal album of your political awakening...

The @thoughtworks#TechRadar for April 2024 is worth a read - covers the movement away from #OpenSource licenses (the @osi gets a mention for their stewardship of licenses to date, and flags challenges), the rise of #AI code generation and the impacts on #CI and #CD workflows (AI code generators change workflow patterns), and #architectures for #LLM creation - we're seeing distinct patterns emerge through #RAG.
I've always enjoyed the Tech Radar format - it simplifies the complexity of a fast-changing landscape and makes it tractable for decision makers.
WOW! Now this is a CD box set I NEED to get! GTA VICE CITY are you kidding me! Is to is the best soundtrack in a game ever? 🔥🎮😎 also which radio station is your favourite?

Great sounds and a bit of proggish playing even. Lyrics and themes are like reading today's newspapers. Sonically there's some superb stuff. Under some pressure I could easily give away my 3000 records and just stick to listening a couple of these $5 budget Megadeth CDs, nothing wrong with this kind of music.
Though I have a few vinyl records, a handful or so, I don't have a record player. What I do have is tons of CDs that I now can't play in the car because the tech bros who design cars now think everybody is willing to either listen to commercials or fork over money every month to creeps like spotify. And I will do neither.
It is ridiculous in this day and age to have to haul a CD player to my car and jerry-rig a connection to the audio input like it's 1995, but here we are.
Kicks of with rockin' Bobby McGee w/almost some #GratefulDead style jamming. Some ballads here as well. Great playing, performances and production. An excellent album.
Good #Friday everyone. Today's my usual work from home day, so I get some quiet and can focus on getting some code written. Also means I can pick a #CD out of my modest collection and listen to it on the stereo, just like the #90s . Today it's the turn of Green Day's Warning: an enjoyably mixed record from 2000.
Tried to play a #CD on my wife's old stereo that's in the living room. Resulted in confused tray movements and really loud angry whirring sounds. Luckily the #Sony stereos from the early 2000s have good service manuals you can find online, and all it took was to replacing the perished belt with a little rubber band. A good Saturday night.
One of the few (if not only?) Coltrane albums with a guitarist. Burrell does some great Django-esque playing here, and it's arguable who's the main star here.
