Another round of pics at the Chippewa Nature Center, a trail that my wife and I walked in which I thought looked really nice, and some pics of the cabin that was near the entrance of this section of the nature center. Shot in June, 2023.
Looking through the poppies in my garden towards my old #cabin in the mountains of #Humboldt, #California.
These were wonderful times... Before the fires of the #August_Complex.
This is one of my fav photos of my old home in the serene isolation of #nature.
I had a few wonderful years here, before having to #evacuate to a world consumed by fear and uncertainty amidst the calamity of the global #Wuhan pandemic.
Can I enter the studio, write and sequence a short piece, record it, edit the video, AND take my pup for a walk on the snowy cabin trails... all in under 120 minutes?
Apparently so!
The result is this peaceful little winter cabin performance featuring the Groove Synthesis 3rd Wave, Yamaha CS-30, and others.
This is where I am staying in Yosemite. My grandparents bought this cabin in 1971. The photo is a few years old, but the light is so magical.
I am sitting here watching the snow fall and the fire burn in the fireplace, drinking a brandy in memory of my grandparents, my grandfather's favorite drink. Life is good.
My parents were married on the deck of this house. I was married in the chapel in the valley.
Hoping tomorrow is clear enough to go to the valley and ice skating with kiddo and to snap a few pictures.
New Years Day is my favorite holiday. No expectations or obligations, just time for a few deep breaths before plunging back into the chaos. To everyone seeing this, I hope you have a good 2024 and find what you seek.
I could quite happily spend some time curled up here in front of the fire, something nice to drink, either reading or just watching the fire and listening to it crackle, occasionally hearing sounds from the nearby forest…
"Hello there!, I'll be your tour guide on a boating adventure, a day of exploration, in the summertime.
This is a harbour seal, I think. I refer to them as the Cute seals, the Grey Seal is much larger & also called a horsehead seal, because, THEY UGLY! 😂
You don't have to be in a boat to see these. I can walk to most shorelines and see them.
There were people living here once. I've been in contact with relatives of early settlers, asking me if I saw graves of their Great GrandFather on the island. Most likely, grown over and hidden.
We did discover a modern day camp. We gave it a wide berth. We don't want to be suspects in break-ins or vandalism. Most isolated camps have plenty of trail cams capturing wildlife and intruders.
Great #video to watch on a #Sunday morning. Kalle lives in a remote area of Sweden and shares his #minimalism lifestyle on a regular basis.
He used new tech media for some old-school social networking, inviting 50 of his subscribers to spend 3 days together in a nearby town. Wonderful way to share culture, nature and thoughts! If he does another event like this, I’ll definitely be interested in attending.
I know I just shared one of Kalle’s videos on Sunday but this new one is another awesome glimpse into an off-the-beaten-path #cabin life in #Sweden. Love watching these.
Highlights:
Northern lights captured on video.
The 2 Husky #dogs pulling a mountain bike and throughly loving it.
How one washes clothes without a washer.
What a “clean” cabin looks like (and a messy one too)
This ink and wash cabin with pumpkins was inspired by stories of visits to a cabin near the coast. The lights are on inside the cabin and five pumpkins sit on the deck creating an inviting fall scene.
This is the beautiful #winter view I have (minus the ugly power lines). The man that lives in the little #cabin across the #river blasts #SherylCrow really loud sometimes.
