With Ms. #Alsobrooks’s come-from-behind victory in Tuesday’s primary, voters in November will most likely have the chance to double the number of Black women ever elected to the Senate.
Another Democrat, Representative Lisa Blunt #Rochester, is the odds-on favorite to win her party’s nomination in September for an open Senate seat in heavily Democratic Delaware.
If both win in November, for the first time, two Black women will serve in Congress’s upper chamber at the same time.
“It’s been a long time coming,” said Ms. #Moseley#Braun, who became the first Black female senator when she was elected from Illinois in 1992 and now serves as chairwoman of the United States African Development Foundation.
The second, from California, is now the vice president, Kamala #Harris.
A third, Laphonza #Butler, Democrat of California, was appointed to fill a vacant seat, but is not running for re-election
My Dieter Rams' designed, ABR-313 Braun Travel Alarm Clock Radio I bought for my European post-university trip, back in 1991. Way before smartphones, laptop computers, tablets, we relied on things like this for telling time, waking up, and listening to news, sports and music.
This plastic fantastic device is now 34 years old, but it still works as new, and looks great. This is a photo I took of the one I own, in 2016. It's on my work desk, upstairs.
This thing even had an alarm "snooze" function, a night light, and a fully retractable antenna. Runs on AA batteries.
And because I just felt the urge, here is what the Braun ABR-313 looks like, this evening. I have it (usually) on my work desk, and occasionally use it to listen to local radio. Still sounds great (that usual transistor radio tinny-ness!) and the clock still keeps accurate time.

Dass die Erhöhung des #Bürgergelds mit der Anpassung an die #Inflation zu tun hat, und von der #CDUCSU mitbeschlossen wurde, erwähnt er natürlich nicht.
Auch nicht, dass die Höhe der Sätze kaum zum Leben reichen und von vielen Sozialverbänden kritisiert werden.
Wir sollten darüber reden, wie traurig eine politische Lage ist, in der „nur“ 45% für einen AfD-Kandidaten ein Grund zum Feiern sind. Und darüber, dass kaum noch jemand eine Antwort auf die demokratiefeindlichen Tendenzen der AfD zu haben scheint.

Es wird Herbst.
Die Boulevardblätter werden braun und
fallen dem Merz zu Füßen
um mit kalten Herzen
gemeinsam
in den dunklen Abgrund der menschlichen Seele zu segeln.
Zudem haben sie nicht mal #Nationalsozialismus richtig drauf:
"Das Land ist ungesund".
"Ich schäme mich für Deutschland"
Kein Nationalstolz.
s/Nazis 2.0 leiden unter dem Kopierer-Effekt: je öfter man ein Kopie von einer Kopie erstellt, desto schlechter ist das Endresultat.
Leider nicht blasser, nur dümmer, und genauso #braun.
