We use Telegram for our family messaging. Mainly because it works well between Android and iOS. How secure are our conversations? I've read the privacy policy some. I know Signal is more secure but is Telegram secure enough?
I prefer all the features of Telegram, plus I would need to convince my entire Family & Friends group to make the switch. Any rational, kind thoughts would be appreciated. #telegram#signal

There is a possible #Telegram#desktop#RCE being exploited in the wild right now. Some suggest it's on the #mozjpeg library. I have NOT analyzed the exploit myself nor confirmed the issue directly

Es curioso como cambian las cosas. Si bien en 2021 salía un documento, presuntamente del FBI, poniendo a #Telegram por encima de #Signal y #Threema en cuestión de privacidad porque la compañía siempre se niega a colaborar con las autoridades y porque por mucho que se teorice sobre sus debilidades no han llegado a hackearlo, lo que sí hackearon los rusos fueron smartphones específicos, probablemente con algun malware como Pegasus (o infiltrándose en chats grupales), para acceder a conversaciones.

Monetising messaging apps is not easy. Users do not want adverts to pop up in their private messages. Signal relies on donations and Meta does not give profit figures for WhatsApp.

Like many other Telegram communities and users producing nonconsensual AI-generated sexual images, this user creates fake nude images of celebrities, including images of minors in swimsuits, but is particularly notable because it plainly and openly shows one of the most severe harms of generative AI tools: easily creating nonconsensual pornography of ordinary people.
In one of the chat rooms in this Telegram channel, titled “IRL Fakes,” the person who creates the images posts real photographs of people, seemingly taken from their social media profiles, alongside their AI-generated porn. It appears the Telegram user does this both to prove their ability to offer this service to potential customers, and to humiliate the women being targeted."
