What kind of plant can survive this extended and record breaking #HeatWave in
Arizona? Maybe Century plants. This medium size succulent was in a large pot in Tempe where I stayed a week ago. Seen in the Golden Hour where everything is rich and glowing. #Succulent#Arizona#Tempe
I could use some general knowledge | help. So, a few months back, I got a Lola succulent. It unfortunately came without care instructions, so I've pretty much had to wing it. Even had to reverse image search to learn what kind it was. And since then... I've botched it... by watering it. I learned unfortunately too late that I had over-watered it... is there anything at all I can do to help or save it? First picture is before watering... 2nd is it today. It's kept in a well-lit room. The sun comes in through a curtain-less window in the afternoons and reflects off white | cream colored walls. I've no problem providing more sun for it if this would help. I mainly leave it where it's at right now because I thought it would like similar lighting to my aloe plant which has thrived in this room.
I planted some jalapeño seeds from supper the other evening! They’ve had a couple of nights in the pot but still no little sprouts. Google says I should wait about a fortnight, so fingers crossed 🤞 All four of my scallions have sprouted and are zooming upwards, I think I might have my first harvest soon! My mint plant Carrot has taken quite well to the new pot. My task today is to do some pruning I think. Finally I gave Santiago the echeveria a little haircut and repotted him. To my surprise there was no soil and he was completely rooted! He is back in a full pot and seems to be doing much better now. His younger sibling Oliver has gotten a bit fried by the sun (oops) so I gave him some TLC and moved him into the indirect sun. He is in between my basil plants and seems to be just a bit happier! Today is a bit overcast which is a welcome change from yesterday, here’s hoping I can get this done before any rain. #HomeGardening#ApartmentGardening#ConcreteGarden#HerbGarden#succulents#plants
#SucculentSunday : i started this #succulent pot outside from some cuttings and odd plants that no longer fit in my room after the move. it's recovered from the initial transplant shock & is coming along nicely.
plants pictured: Crassula sarmentosa, Crassula mesembryanthemoides, Gasteria something-or-other, a Haworthiopsis variety, and some sort of Echeveria
Haven't posted a pic of my Aloe plants in awhile. In the last few months, the pup "junior" has been struggling. I'm not sure why, but i've moved it into a better window in hopes that it will do better.
The other plants are doing well, to the point where I can no longer tell which one was the weaker one when i first got them. Unfortunately one of them I've forgotten to rotate so it's got a pretty obvious tilt.
It's been about a month since my last post so here's an update. They're all getting so much bigger. Junior (the pup) is much healthier.
Turns out it was over-watered & not being watered for 2 weeks while I was on vacation did it wonders. The 2 bigger plants are continuing to get bigger.
Dear fellow- #plant -lovers #succulent enthusiasts and experts: what does it mean when the beads of pearls turn white? A few nights ago, I was thinking, “ what if there’s a variety that really looks like pearls (white) vs. green, and now this? Does it mean I have a plant fairy godmother?!🤯@plants
Our Epiphyllum (orchid cacti) is sure giving her best effort to finally bloom. We have been waiting for years. Amazing that this is happening just a few weeks after our freak hailstorm (26-May-23) that beat the crap out of our tropical garden.
