Hello, I'm an American, originally from the Appalachian Piedmont in the #stateofGeorgia, but I currently live in #NorthCarolina. I am a Navy veteran's wife & an #artist. I serve as an events director | admin for https://mas.to/@adopteesunite as well as a researcher on their content team.

@SabiLewSounds Soft, fluffies are very lovable. The first time I was homeless, we had 5 pets with us. Started out with 4... found a stray. Kept him. He passed away recently -- we'd had him for 11 years.

The second time we were homeless, one pet had passed, we were unable to keep 2 of them due to health concerns for the one [they were bonded; we didn't want to separate them]. The cat we kept stayed with that same family until we were housed. The little dog we'd found while homeless the first time stayed with us on the streets. We say that he fed us. People would see us standing outside stores while my spouse was applying for jobs and donate to us in person. He was cantankerous, but I miss him.

Today, I forgot that I needed to have my car state inspected before getting my registration renewed. Fortunately, I've still got a few days to get that done [already scheduled the appointment for the inspection].

The day that I go for the inspection, my mom is having knee-replacement surgery in another state. She and my dad live in a rural area; they raise rabbits [for a food source] and have a garden as well as two dogs, one of which is a foster dog which will be coming to live with me once it's treatment is completed.

All this to say that it would really help myself and my family out if I got more traffic & customers to my sites | shops. I'm an artist. I sell printable coloring sheets & device wallpapers in addition to having a Redbubble shop. Thank y'all for reading through.

@SabiLewSounds entirely understandable; though I'm sorry you've experienced that.

I'm late-self-diagnosed autistic. I only recently (about a year and a half ago) came to the realization and since have been connecting a lot of dots for myself. One of these is friendship. I told a friend today that the best thing Facebook has ever done for me is to show me all the friends I didn't actually have. The way FB was marketed initially, I thought it was this great new way to become closer to people. So like, if I and a petson shared a table that one day in the school cafeteria and I liked our conversation, I might add them on FB and then be really confused that they didn't respond or comment on my posts, etc. It seems silly now. But it's also sad.

@SabiLewSounds I grew up without it too. I just turned 39. I first heard about it when I was in college in 2006.

I added college friends. Some highschool friends... Really the friends that stuck were my bestie, online acquaintances, the occasional family member...

Highschool was rough on most of us. My best friend lived in a different state than I. At school I thought I had friends until they ultimately decided I was too "clingy" and turned on me. Good times! /sarcasm

@SabiLewSounds I attended a Christian academy and before that was homeschooled by my parents. A lot of my peers seemed to think I chose those things for myself. I did choose the Christian school. I had never attended "real" school before as I was homeschooled from Kindergarten - 9th grade. I was 14 when Columbine happened. I was terrified of the public school system. I don't know that I made the correct decision going to the Christian school. But I don't regret that as much as I wish I'd had more understanding to base my decision on.

@SabiLewSounds the Christian school didn't have an art program. Music was pretty much just choir -- no student played or was taught to play any instrument. I took HomeEc -- but they didn't have access to a kitchen or any of the things a HomeEc class needed, so it was just a glorified Wedding Planner class... The highlight was the fact that it was all girls in the class so the teacher decided to show us a film on birth... It showed everything... Absolutely nothing left to the imagination.

I grew up in a Southern Baptist household. Religion was a part of life for the first 25ish years of my life. It's not always pretty.
