Testimony started w/a bang last week as David #Pecker, the fmr publisher of The #NationalEnquirer, said that he had entered into a secret plot w/ #Trump & #MichaelCohen to #CatchAndKill negative stories about Trump as he ran for president in 2016. #GaryFarro, the 3rd to testify, started off w/dry details about banking transactions. Next is video of a campaign event #Trump did in PA, in Oct 2016. He blasts media outlets & says, “Every woman lied when they came forward to hurt my campaign.” He later vows to sue, saying "the events never happened, never."
Merchan precluded prosecution from introducing direct evidence that many women, near the end of the 2016 campaign, accused Trump of #SexualAssault. They are getting some of that evidence into the trial w/these videos of Trump attacking the women on the campaign trail.
The court, in a 4-3 ruling, ruled that the judge in the New York County trial prejudiced #Weinstein with improper rulings, including allowing women to testify about allegations that were not part of the case.

He is a fully disgraced figure: sentenced to long #prison terms in 2 cities, defined by the public testimonies of nearly 100 alleged victims [survivors] whose stories formed the cornerstone of the #MeToo movement. But in #legal terms, his NY conviction was always controversial, & his appeals always stood a chance.
An ad of the #Republican Voters Against #Trump featured his legal issues. In the ad, an actor admits to real employers of facing 88 #felony accounts, an accusation of stealing government secrets and being liable of #sexualassault The employers said he won't be hired after a full background check. AG #DanaNessel announced Tues she would close her investigation into allegations of #SexualAssault levied by the fmr speaker's sister-in-law, Rebekah Chatfield -a decision the woman's lawyer described as "crushing."
Nessel praised Rebekah Chatfield for coming forward & credited her for providing the probable cause needed to launch the investigation in Jan2022. But there was not enough evidence to prosecute #LeeChatfield to meet a standard of proof that is "beyond a reasonable doubt” Nessel said.
