If #LaraTrump were to become co-chair of the #RNC, it would let #Trump have a family member in a prominent position & give him a level of trust & insight as his campaign seeks to meld with the RNC.
#LaraTrump has worked closely w/the cmte for several years, & she is seen as a prolific fund-raiser (no comment). She also would be trusted by the #Trump family (till she isn’t) which has put an imprimatur on almost every aspect of TFG’s #political life & which closely watches how resources are allocated (i.e. how much to them?).
#Judiciary Cmte Chair #JimJordan issued a #subpoena Fri for #FaniWillis to hand over records, including documents & any communication, related to receiving or using #FederalFunding since Sept 1, 2020, acc/to a copy of the subpoena….
It’s the latest step in a larger #House#GOP probe into whether or not Willis used federal funds as part of her investigation into #Trump….
Also in the statement, #FaniWillis defended her use of federal funds against the #HouseRepublicans allegations of wrongdoing:
"Our federal grant programs are focused on helping at-risk youth & seeking justice for sexual assault victims who were too long ignored," Willis said. "Our federal grant-funded Sexual Assault Kit Initiative has been cited by the United States Attorney General as a model program."
