The PS2 is one of the greatest game consoles of all time. Sony released the Automobile Color Collection in 2001 to commemorate the sale of the 20 millionth PS2 console sold worldwide. First after the shot of all five colors is the SCPH-30000 RSR Super Red. And then there are two angles of the SCPH-30000 RLY Light Yellow, the rarest of the collection.
@jake4480
Some games can be played from an USB drive, but there are plenty that will have problems. Some won't even start up it crashes immediately, others have problems with the FMV (full-motion video) playback being to choppy ruining the experience of playing the games in the first place.
Yeah PS2 games can get really big especially if there were release as multi disc games and even some of the single disc games can go as high as 8GB, like for example Yakuza 2.
@RaffdeBlois dommage qu'elle soit arrondie sur le dessus sinon avec une PS2 slim posée dessus ça faisait toujours moins épais que la PS3 première gen 🤭
Katamari Damacy, the very emblem of all that was weird and wonderful about the PlayStation 2 library... Katamari’s designer, Keita Takahashi, made it in less than a year with a budget of £650,000.
I’m a sucker for nostalgia but very things get me the way footage of old #VideoGames from my youth does. I spent so much time playing Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4 on the #PS2. These videos are just pure, unfiltered nostalgia. It would be nice if YouTube didn’t require that they lose the music but it’s still pretty good. https://youtu.be/pYRcEcFV788?si=Pu_DKLkFHFQuRqyS
@MURRRAAAAY THUG is pretty good, but is it the best PS2 Tony Hawk? 🤔 I'll have to think.
It would probably be Thug from that list alone though, for sure. I think Return to Castle Wolfenstein is ok but You're better off playing that on Xbox or, for multiplayer, playing ET:Legacy on PC.
Never noticed before, but the first 2 #PlayStation2 games I owned were both on CD. I guess thinking about it, Ridge Racer V isn't a huge game, but I'm pretty surprised that Tekken Tag Tournament fitted on a single CD. #RetroGaming
@Hundstrasse I did Swap Magic for a while on my PS2. I was surprised how many games actually were CD. Another two I particularly remember were the Contra game (not bad, but I can see it as being not too big,) and a Wizardry game that is quite large in scale, but I admit has relatively simplistic assets. Most of the CD games also run great from a USB drive despite the system's rather awful USB 1.1 speed limitations. (Probably 8Mbps rather than the theoretical 12. Maybe even 6...)
@nazokiyoubinbou i picked up one of those adapters that let's you load games from SD card through the memory card slot (which has faster speeds than the USB unbelievably!) Sadly I've yet to get it to work 😕... But also haven't tried to problem solve much either 😅.
Contra is surprising. Jurassic Park operation genesis is CD too... I guess it sounds similar to the wizardry game you mentioned in that it's quite light on assets, but feels big.
Playing Cave's early PS2 racing game Touge 3 , funnily released as Road Rage 3 in the west when the 2nd never left Japan & the 1st was called High Velocity.
It passes the vibe check with a smooth soundtrack and fun physics that lean somewhat towards sim but keep most of that arcade feel. The controls are good & you can calibrate almost everything you want. You can even adjust the front and rear spring rates to get the kind of control you want.
